As one of the morning trainers at the studio.... 4 out of 5 days a week.... I arrive before 6am. So to be prepared for those early mornings, I spend time each night portioning and choosing my meals/snacks.
Often times, I have a very brief break between clients so having healthy snacks ready instead of scrambling for the closest, easiest thing doesn't become an option.
I recently took two trips. One by plane. One by car. Both approximately took three hours in length.
Before getting into the car or arriving at the airport, I already had my meals/snacks prepared to avoid falling into the trap for the need to pull over for fast food or to grab some junk at the airport.
This is such an easy way to save hundreds if not thousands of calories per week, per trip, etc. It can be easily applied in any situation. By doing these simple preparations you –
