Healthy Treats for Valentine's Day!

Feb 14, 2020

Many people consider peanut butter to be a great source of protein, but it has over twice the amount of fat than it does protein. Making it a good source of fat rather than protein. We’ve all been there, shoveling in spoonfuls and not measuring out the recommended serving size of 2 tablespoons. It can be so easy to eat, but dangerous considering an 18 oz jar has over 3,000 calories and 250 grams of fat! Try swapping out your traditional peanut butter for peanut butter powder.

Two tablespoons of Jiff Creamy Natural Peanut Butter contains 190 calories, 16 grams of fat and 3 grams of sugar. The same amount of Bell Plantations's PB 2 has 45 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 1 gram of sugar. Its such an easy swap to save 145 calories 14.5 grams of fat and 2 grams of sugar!

Now you’re probably thinking of all the ways you have used peanut butter in the past and the good news is you can use this powder in the same way. Just add water or (nut) milk and it becomes a creamy consistency rather than a powder. You can also add it to protein shakes or use it as protein powder to cover up the strong bitter flavors in a green smoothie.
