Fitness Together Makes the Front Page (but not for fitness)

Hudson -- A local company's owners thought they had passed "Go" and collected $436,000, but it turned out that just like Monopoly money, their windfall couldn't be spent.
Cordis Corp., which manages Fitness Together personal training studios in Hudson, Chagrin Falls, Solon and Rocky River, received a tax refund check for $436,000 Feb. 19 from the Ohio Department of Taxation.
Owners Jonathan Slain, Michael Hall and Brad Newcomb were surprised by the amount of the check and knew it was an obvious error since they had not yet filed 2009 corporate taxes.
The check was intended for a company with a similar name, but that didn't prevent the local businessmen from entertaining a few fantasies about spending the money before calling the tax department.
