    Dear Michael and Jonathan,

I've told both of you at times that Fitness Together has changed my life.

And I mean that. I am stronger and healthier than I've ever been and although I'm also often sore, it's a good sore!

I can't quite believe that I just had my 500th workout at FT. That's pretty amazing!

    Thank you again,

    Debbie

  • Carla Chao

The personal trainers have been great to work with as they each have their individual strengths. working out three days a week really helps to keep myself in shape by increasing my energy and burning fat tissue to build muscle.*

  • Trish R.

“OMG! This team is fantastic! The trainers and staff are positive, enthusiastic and encouraging. This is the real deal -- nutrition, fitness and mental strength. Stop in for a visit!”

  • Ellis M.

Josh, Cody and Jen are all fantastic. Always a smooth transition between the three and all the workouts are somewhat different yet accomplish the same goal. Have only worked with Tonya and Lisa once so it would be unfair to comment at this early stage but it sure seems they are on the same paragraph in the FT book!

  • John

I have been coming to FT for about 6 months. The experience has been fantastic as it combines a disciplined workout with great trainers. It forces me to stay on a regimen and work toward an aggressive goal. I would recommend FT for any person that has a goal of getting in best shape of their life and maintaining that success for the long-run.*

  • Ryan

Great at what they do--train you hard to get the results you want.*

  • Joseph S.

I have been with FT for 2 weeks now, and I feel a lot better. It is a quiet company where you can be challenged without feeling judge, unlike the 'big company' gyms. The staff is extremely friendly, they work you hard, and they encourage you to continue when you feel defeated. I loved training with Josh and Tonya, and Lisa's encouragement for my diet was extremely helpful. I have never felt better I have since joining FT!*

    Jaime S.
Lost 100 Lbs at Fitness Together!

Jaime has been a Fitness Together client for more than a year and, as you can see, she looks great!  What follows are Jaime’s own words.

How much weight have you lost to date?

I started out at 328 pounds. The last time I weighed myself, I was 189 pounds. So, in less than a year (April to February) I’ve lost at least 139 pounds.*

What motivated you to improve your level of fitness?

I decided to make a change when I finally realized that I woke up every day miserable - without anything to look forward to. I realized that I kept waiting for my fabulous life to begin. At that minute, I concluded that I should stop waiting and start living. I had to do something.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to do to get started. I followed a “points system” diet plan and was relatively successful, but then I hit a plateau. So I bought some 5-pound weights and ordered an exercise video from an infomercial, but I was frustrated because I lacked the knowledge and support to be successful. Then I found out about Fitness Together. The rest is history!

How did you hear about Fitness Together?

A friend told me about Fitness Together. I was feeling frustrated with my feeble attempts to work out on my own and she mentioned that she had just started working out with personal trainers at a local studio.  The more she told me about it, the more interested I became.  She encouraged me to schedule a free fitness assessment.

My trainers are almost like family now. Whether I’m laughing, crying, frustrated, happy, nervous, or excited, they are willing to share my stories and emotions. When I need to be motivated, they push me. When I need some hope, they inspire me. When I need confidence, they support me. On days when I feel too overwhelmed or exhausted to go work out, I still show up to my sessions.

At Fitness Together, I’ve learned to push myself in ways I never expected and to accomplish things I never thought possible. It’s empowering to have someone know what you are capable of even when you don’t yet realize your full potential for yourself. One of my trainers always says “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”  It turns out that he’s right.

Are you able to participate in activities you previously were not? Do you have any newfound interests?

Yes!  One year after starting my new lifestyle, I rollerblade and ice skate frequently. And now that I feel OK wearing a bathing suit, I plan to spend my summer in the water. I love to swim!

I’ve also learned to enjoy cooking, thanks to working with Fitness Together’s dietitian. She taught me that cooking, like working out, is all about learning the basics and then experimenting to find out what works for me.

  • Julie C.

“Been training at FT in Chagrin Falls for 2 years on and off. I hate working out but somehow these guys manage to get me back in the gym every time I relapse - and that is a big deal for me.”

  • Tough Old Lady

My son surprised me with my FT training. The best gift ever! I like all the trainers, and especially doing the kick boxing. I feel so much better after my workouts, and function much better every day of my life. So, you are never too old!

  • Mike Workman
    Certified Personal Trainer

Hi, my name is Mike Workman. I've been a personal trainer here at fitness together for about a year. Before working at FT, I studied and completed my undergrad degree of Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University. I have a passion for fitness, but an even bigger passion for helping people in both fitness and life. I truly enjoy helping people in whatever ways possible, whether it be through weight loss, boosting energy levels, raising self esteem, or even becoming a better athlete.  Through my studies at BGSU and my certifications, I have learned a lot of different tactics to help people get their ideal figure. I love helping people achieve things they thought they could never do and showing them anything is possible with dedication and hard work. I always bring a positive, upbeat attitude to my sessions and motivate individuals in many different ways.
When I'm not working at Fitness Together I enjoy outdoor activities such as Golfing, Snowboarding, Hiking, and Camping. Being outside and staying active is something that is important for me, not only for my physical health, but mentally as well. Through my training I enjoy teaching people the passion for exercise and how they can use it through their every day life.

Hello, my name is Coty Yandell. As a former Varsity athlete I learned early on about the importance of keeping a body in great physical condition, not only for sport performance but for everyday activities.

My passion for fitness led me to pursue Athletic Training At Bowling Green State University and then further my experience with a Certified Personal Trainer program through the American Council on Exercise.

Sometimes we place our physical well-being on the back burner.  It can often be overlooked even though it plays such a large role for such small tasks in our everyday life; activities such as playing with pets, working outside or even walking in the park. • Jen Toronski
    Studio Manager, Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Jennifer Toronski, and I have been a personal trainer here at Fitness Together for eleven years.  I decided to get my training certification after the birth of my third child because I have always been interested in the health and wellness industry.  I started as a medical assistant but quickly decided I wanted to be more proactive and preventative about health.  Having been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid at an early age, fitness didn't come easily for me. As a result, I understand how hard it is to start an exercise regime and keep the motivation to achieve specific fitness goals. I really enjoy helping others go through their fitness journeys, becoming healthier together, and finding life styles that work for them.

    Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Andrew Hinton and I first got involved in fitness through the countless sports I played while growing up. My focal sport that I played, and continue to play, is golf. My relentless work ethic on the course and in the gym, lead me to qualify for the Division I state golf tournament, where I placed seventh overall. After high school, I attended Bowling Green State University where I majored in the field of Exercise Science. After just four short years, I graduated with honors with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science.  Bowling Green provided me with many field experience opportunities, most notably this past summer, I worked at EXOS in Raleigh, North Carolina. EXOS is a nationwide franchise providing sport performance training for athletes of all skill levels. At EXOS I worked closely with both the physical therapy staff and sport performance staff as we delivered proper medical care and sport performance training to athletes with the likes of the Carolina Hurricanes and Olympic sprinter and bronze medalist, Bershawn Jackson. While working with these elite athletes, I learned so much about their training and am ready to pass my knowledge to my clients. Come train with our team at Fitness Together, so you can train like the pros!

    Lead Trainer, Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Shannon Hamilton and I am currently in my mid twenties with many fitness goals and accomplishments in my pocket. I am a certified trainer through the ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association).  I began my fitness journey as a competitor, focusing on many sports such as, volleyball, softball, weightlifting, and track. These sports have shaped my future in granting me the ability to play at a collegiate level. Once my career as a college athlete came to an end, I found myself still craving an athletic and competitive drive . Through this transition I began a lifestyle change and found a deep admiration for the world of female bodybuilding focusing on the figure division. This sport has completely shaped my life to this day. I have embraced an overly disciplined schedule, following nutritional regiments, cardiovascular training, and most importantly the art of weight lifting and strength training to achieve the body needed to compete at a high level . With numerous years under my belt I have became a well rounded personal trainer, athlete, competitor and fitness expert when it comes to training in many aspects of fitness .

    Studio Manager, Certified Personal Trainer

From the age of 4, my parents had me in some kind of sport. Football,
basketball, and baseball became my top 3 choices. I played up until high school, then I focused on just football and basketball. Going into college I hadn't decided which direction to go, career wise, and was not pursuing sports on a collegiate level.  Despite this I still kept physically active with weight lifting and recreational sports. I loved how it made me feel when I was active and wanted to help people feel the same way, so I combined an occupation and hobby into one. It also holds me accountable by practicing what I preach.

I want to teach people how to become better versions of themselves by setting goals and working towards them. There is no better feeling than setting and accomplishing a goal, except when you help someone else reach theirs. The look on that person's face when they hit their goals, knowing you played a part in their success gives you satisfaction like nothing else. There are many benefits in staying healthy and active.

Obesity is an epidemic across the world, especially in the U.S. I believe people are too scared to step outside of their comfort zones. They are afraid that others are going to judge them or are too ashamed that they let themselves get too out of shape. I want people to feel comfortable, knowing there are others like me who want to help by educating them on leading healthier lives; lives without a ton of medications, diseases, and an opportunity to live longer. This is why I became a personal trainer.
