My name is Steve Johnson. Exercise and fitness has played a major role in my life going back to elementary school. It all started with a trip I took to Chicago, where I would spend the summer with my cousin. The usual activities were in line for grade school age boys, little league baseball, summer camp, miniature golf, etc. However, I believe it was the night my uncle took us to go see “Conan the Barbarian”, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I went home that night and performed what seemed like 1000 push-ups and sit-ups. I was sore for days! That created a fascination in exercise and fitness which later propelled me into a high school sports career competing in football, baseball, track and wrestling. I later moved on to play football at Fork Union Military Academy with future Heisman and NFL great Eddie George. I continued my football career at James Madison University, where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

Over the years of working at Fitness Together, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients each with their own unique set of goals and abilities. I’ve worked with adolescence as young as 10 and adults well into their 80’s with goals ranging from fat loss, increased muscle mass, general fitness or just maintaining strength and coordination, as with one client I trained with cerebral palsy. Aloha! My name is Lonn Iwashita and I am originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. Fitness has always been a part of my life through my involvement in a variety of sports. Through sports, I became passionate about all aspects of health as well as how the human body functions. I would always try to find out new training methods to find competitive gains to overcome any personal weaknesses. I had to find out what type of method was the most beneficial to me. From this I have learned over the years that everyone responds to health differently, both psychologically and physiologically, meaning, that there is not a set health or fitness plan that fits all people. I want to help guide individuals to reach their specific goals and to be the best version of himself or herself. I believe the best project you’ll ever work on is yourself. Hi, I’m Cody and am thrilled to be a part of Fitness Together! Born and raised Minnesotan, I’ve had a passion for fitness and martial arts since I was a little kid. Through junior high and high school I played OL/DL in football, becoming Sumo-Sized large along the way. I started my fitness journey by self-experimenting and self-training to work down from 280lb to 175lb in less than 2 years! My fitness career started with the Ridgedale YMCA, focused on Functional Fitness like flexibility, stability, and range of motion. While also expanding members to all fitness systems including TRX, Kettlebell, and Foam Rolling. When working with me, I’m enthusiastic not only for you to complete a great workout, but to also have fun and enjoy the process as well! Whether you want to decrease/increase mass, or want to improve strength, cardio, flexibility, and/or stability. I’ll be here for you, using my personal experience and knowledge, to guide you to and through any goal on your fitness journey!

Hey y'all, my name's Makayla (Mak). I'm from the humid state of Arkansas and earned my PT certification back in May of 2021 and have been training/continuing my education since then. I decided to pursue not just the main cert but also 4 other specialties that I believe provide me with a well-rounded knowledge of program design for new and experienced athletes. I've been obsessed with fitness and nutrition since I was 14 and have been hitting the gym ever since then. I truly want to inspire and help people find motivation to get involved in fitness training and make it a lifestyle. I personally am a weight lifter, but I've trained clients who have never stepped foot in a gym and those who want to be challenged in their current athletic status. My background is primarily in pharmaceuticals and organic chemistry, so learning how the body responds to exercises and coordination is what really intrigued me when studying for my exams.
