At 51 years old I found myself as overweight and out of shape as I could be. I was convinced that I was too far gone to fix the problem. I decided I'd give it a shot and called Fitness Together. I took up exercise a number of years ago after quitting smoking. Loved it and stayed fit on and off for years. Started running in my forties but my addiction to all things sugar took over. As a result, my weight increased and yo-yoed. I wanted to work out again but preferred working out with someone else or in a group. Plus, I had lost confidence in myself to work out aerobically in my fifties. I was intrigued when I saw what Fitness Together offered for us "seasoned" women. I planned to go for a few months to check it out. I joined the Pack program led by Carlos and began to settle in and enjoy the camaraderie. Due to a shoulder injury, I began 1 on 1 personal training with Carlos. Feeling better, but still going up and down with my weight, I decided I needed to eat better too. Taking tips from the Fitness Together Team and eating clean and healthy, my weight finally started falling off. I am 25 pounds lighter than I was on November 1st last year. I look and feel better than I did in my thirties!! Not only did Chavanne and the trainers cheer me on, I got amazing support from the other clients. This is the first time in my life that I am fit not only in body, but in mind, and spirit. I feel like part of a family there and can be my true self without being self-conscious. As I rapidly approached my 30th birthday I realized that I had stopped taking care of myself. Prior to joining FT, my work and life schedule was inconsistent with travel,kids, job, etc... I had a difficult time maintaining any consistent workout schedule and healthy eating habits. My wife encouraged me to get a personal trainer since I got to the point where I had given up on trying to lose weight or get in shape. I just had my 40th Birthday, I was up to 225 (from 170 lbs when we met), I was moody, self conscious, uncomfortable, sluggish, etc...everyone who is out of shape can relate. Lucas graduated from Appalachian State University in 2014 with a BS degree in Health Promotion and a Minor in Psychology. In 2015 Lucas became a part of the Matthew's team. He has always been actively involved in sports and fitness since a young age. Since then, Lucas has obtained his Personal Training Certification through the WITS Program. He continues to pursue certifications in similar fields to be the best, well-rounded trainer around. He believes that incorporating barbell exercises along with more modern forms of exercise keeps the workouts fun and exciting!

Brandon received a BS in Nutrition and minor in Exercise science at Western Carolina University. He is certified through EXOS and has been in the personal training field for 3 years.
I have been into fitness since a young age, as I played sports from youth up to college. My passion is to help people reach their goals and provide them with the knowledge and training that will enhance their lifestyle. I have worked with individuals of all ages and love the setting here at Fitness Together. One of my main focus points is proper technique and posture, as I believe it is very important in preventing injury and negative stress. In my free time I enjoy working out, spending time with family and friends, sports, and studying for further certifications.

Becky is a Certified Personal Trainer through American College of Sports Medicine with her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and additional coursework in Interdisciplinary Health Studies. She is an Advanced Clinical Weight Loss Practitioner through Health Sciences Academy. Becky has a wide variety of personal training experience working with clients with the following conditions; Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, post-surgery rehab, weight loss, Diabetes, cardiomyopathy, weight gain and youth programming. Becky is extremely passionate about fitness and holistic nutrition, and enjoys catering to her clients and their individual goals!
Becky is an avid exerciser and loves to play pick up basketball in her free time. She is a previous All-State cross-country runner, basketball player, and track competitor. Becky is originally from Pittsburgh, PA (and a big Steelers fan) but absolutely loves Charlotte!
Chris Howard

Chris is a native of Arizona and studied Business Communication at Arizona State University. He has been living in the Charlotte area since 2006. Chris grew up playing basketball, football and running track and has had a passion for sports and fitness his entire life. After suffering two separate injuries, both requiring surgery, he saw the important role specialized training and research played in his own recovery. Chris then obtained an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal training certification, hoping to help others recover from injuries and maintain a high level of strength and fitness. Chris loves helping people reach their personal strength and fitness goals, always learning through the process.

Lenny is the owner of Fitness Together in Waxhaw. He has a great passion for physical fitness and really enjoys the challenge and excitement of working with clients to help them reach their objectives. “Our client’s goals are my goals and I take great pride in that”. His approach to overall wellness, nutrition and body conditioning is exemplified in his motivation and dedication to fitness. “Working out is not just about your body, it’s an enrichment of the mind and soul as well”. Lenny is married and has two sons and recently moved to the Waxhaw area from New Jersey. He has multiple Personal Training certifications as well as being a certified Sports Nutrition Consultant. Lenny played Division 1 soccer and earned his Bachelors degree from the University of South Florida. In his free time Lenny enjoys doing anything sports-related with his 2 boys.

Hello, my name is Jermaine and I’m a certified personal trainer at Fitness Together. I've been a trainer for more than 15 years and have provided one on one training sessions as well as conducted group classes in an innovative personal training studio. I received my B.S. degree at the University of South Carolina where I played college football (starting as a walk-on and then earning a scholarship after one year) and competed in/won weight lifting competitions. Among them was the University of South Carolina Bench Press Champion ('97 and '98), South East Regional Pound for Pound Champion ('97), and Columbia YMCA Bench Press Champion ('99). After relocating to Charlotte, NC, I continued in athletics and became a high school football coach. I've been coaching and training student-athletes for more than 15 years. In 2016, I coached at Charlotte Latin who went on to have an undefeated season (12-0) and STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, GO HAWKS! I currently hold certifications from AAAI (American Aerobic Association International) and ISMA (International Sports Medicine Association) as a certified personal trainer and strength and conditioning trainer.

The physics of the body have always attracted me since a young age and it is why I attended college to study physical therapy for two years. When I moved to the United States in 1999, I found my passion for fitness. I became a certified personal trainer in 2005 In Greenville SC where I lived for 12 years. I felt the need to help others to achieve their fitness goals, and I also started to compete in NPC competitions as a fitness competitor. My goal is to motivate my clients, challenge them, and help them build the best version of themselves. My focus will always be to help individuals achieve a balanced lifestyle that is within health and wellness guidelines so they can stick with it as part of their daily life, not just an event thing.
