    Before joining Fitness Together, my body was in terrible shape. I weighed 292 pounds, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, I was dealing with constant knee and low back pain, and I simply felt sluggish and achy on a daily basis. At 35 years old, this was not the existence I had imagined for myself. With my extensive family history of diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure, I was terrified of the future I was creating for myself.

    Making the phone call to Joe at Fitness Together was a life-changing decision. After the first few months, my blood sugar level was well within the normal range, my knees and back were no longer hurting, and I felt much more flexible and energetic. I could feel the old me coming back to life! After a little over a year, I have lost over 76 pounds and 41 inches* – much more than I ever expected. I have run four 5k races and training for my first 10k race. My friends and family are amazed by my transformation - both physically and mentally.

    I started training with FT South End in May 2009.  Since that time I have met my weight goal, reduced my dress size from a size 10 to a 4*, and my body toning is now noticeable.  But even more importantly, prior to my FT training I was feeling tired and sluggish.  After just a few days of training and improvement in my diet, my energy level increased substantially and has remained at a much higher level. 

    I train primarily with Colin and Taylor, and on occasions I have trained with each of the FT trainers.  All the trainers are friendly and eager to help me meet my training goals.  Although the training is tough, I enjoy the training sessions and appreciate the motivation I get from the trainers.  I like that the training routines are specifically designed for me and I like the variety in the routines.  I also like that my specifically designed training routine mixes in cardio work.  While I worked out prior to joining FT, I learned that I never pushed myself to the levels that FT has shown me I can handle

    I like the periodic assessments that are performed to evaluate whether or not I am meeting my weight goals and experiencing improvements in my endurance, strength, and flexibility.  It is nice to know that I am truly making progress.  I also like the periodic FT Tips that provide helpful information on exercise and nutrition.

  • Chelsea
    Certified Personal Trainer

    Hello, my name is Chelsea Joyner and I  joined the Fitness Together team in July of 2017. I was born and raised in Clover, South Carolina. I was a runner in high school and that sparked my interest in becoming an Exercise Science major at Winthrop University. While in undergrad I worked in campus recreation and had a mentor that encouraged me to become a certified personal trainer in 2013. In doing so, I discovered a passion of mine and started working with students and faculty/staff at the university. I learned a lot during my undergraduate career and wanted to further my education. I went on to graduate school at the University of Mississippi, Go Rebels!  I earned my master degree in Exercise Science and supervised personal trainers and group fitness instructors who worked in The Department of Campus Recreation at Ole Miss. During my time at Ole Miss I was training clients and teaching circuit style group fitness classes. Fitness and wellness play a huge role in my personal life and I love spreading my interests to others looking to achieve goals.

    I have worked with clients who were in high school up to the older adult population. Research was a huge part of my graduate studies and I read articles frequently to stay up to date. Ultimately I love interacting with my clients and assisting them in reaching their fitness goals. I am excited to be a trainer at Fitness Together!

    Fitness Consultant, certified personal trainer

    Daniel's primary objective is to ensure clients achieve their goals through a combination of perseverance, commitment, and dedication. Careful to tailor regimens structured around each individual’s needs, experience, and abilities, he has trained clients as young as 14 and as old as 85. Certified as a personal trainer through AFAA, Daniel has been a personal trainer since 1994. Himself a dedicated triathlete, he knows what it takes to reach and maintain optimal levels of fitness. Providing constant relevant and informed feedback, Daniel has the capacity to energize every session, with every client. Never one to be completely satisfied or complacent, he constantly augments his knowledge by keeping abreast of the latest developments in exercise physiology and always ensures his clients engage in challenging and varied routines. Daniel holds 2 B.A. degrees from UConn, and has post-baccalaureate experience in Business Administration. He is also a part-time musician and writer and a loving father of a twelve-year-old boy who is the treasure of his life.

    Hi! I'm Hannah Letts - passionate personal trainer and Purdue University Alum.  I was born and raised in Highland, Indiana where I played basketball and ran cross country throughout high school. I began my college career at Purdue in 2012 where I initially studied general health sciences, knowing I wanted to pursue a career in the health field but not sure exactly what. After starting to regularly exercise on my own, lift weights, and do my own research, I quickly decided to study Health and Kinesiology instead, and my interest in the benefits and science of fitness hasn't stopped growing since.  Additionally, I continued my education to earn my Master's of Public Health in one additional year. I completed my Master's degree in May 2017, and moved to Charlotte shortly after.

    I became certified as a personal trainer through ACE in January 2015, and I soon began working at Purdue's Rec Center. There I was able to work with clients of all ages, backgrounds, fitness levels, and goals and gained experience in individual, buddy, and small group training sessions.  As fitness and nutrition go hand in hand, I found myself also getting more and more interested in nutrition and became certified through NESTA as a Fitness Nutrition Coach. 

    Practicing a healthy lifestyle has and continues to have so many benefits for me, and I truly believe regular exercise can enhance one's quality of life. I am extremely happy and thankful to continue having the opportunity to positively influence and help others at Fitness Together. I believe in doing what it takes to regain your health and reach your goals, while enjoying and trusting the process - come train with me!

    Exercise Specialist/Kinesiologist

    Andrew graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Health and Fitness. He is an aspiring strength and conditioning coach while holding the USAW Level 1 certification and is ultimately working towards his PhD in the field of Kinesiology. Focusing on bar exercises with old fashion training techniques are things Andrew truly believes shows the most results.

    Andrew treats every single client like they are his own athletes. Taking every single step with a scientific approach, Andrew uses proper exercise progression while adding his own unique twist to obtain optimal results. Seeing his clients improve not only physically but overall in life is something Andrew loves to be a part of. "The body achieves what the mind believes."

    Trainer

     Josh Carter has been with the FT team since Oct of 2013. 

    Josh was taught the importance of health and fitness at the young age of ten when his father took him to the Catawaba Valley YMCA. For years later the hobby grew into an obsession when his father purchased a weight set and set it up in the garage. Since then Josh has strived for fitness and in July of 2013 decided to share his knowledge and help others adopt life changes promoting a healthy mind, body and spirit. After gaining his personal training certification through ACE ( American Council on Exercise), Josh is now perusing more certifications.  Josh loves the atmosphere that FT provides because it gives him the ability to focus on each client individually. With 2 years under his belt here he has helped people of all sizes and ages move toward and reach their fitness goals. Josh thrives off the opportunity to change his clients’ lives just as he changed his own. He loves having the creative freedom to keep his clients motivated and excited about exercise.

  • Bryan Wisdom, M.A.
    Owner/Operator

    Bryan has two decades of experience in the health and fitness industry. “I’m most excited about how well my staff and I implement functional training into each and every workout.” He received his B.S. in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and his Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. Bryan spent nearly five years training clients in biomechanics at the Egoscue Method exercise therapy company in San Diego, California. He was certified by the NSCA and has worked with NFL, NBA, and professional golfers. He has assisted clients with postural and biomechanical issues and uses exercise to restore the body to proper function. “For me training is about getting to know my clients, and finding the best way to help them attain their goals.”

    For almost a decade he has served the Mooresville community as owner/operator of Fitness Together Mooresville. During that time he has built a great staff-“All my team members go through a very specific training system learning posture and corrective movement. It’s great to see how much of an IMPACT our trainers make in our client’s lives.”  You may see him out on the lake or a trail doing things that make him come alive. His passions include surfing, wakeboarding, SUPing, trail running, and biking.

    Chris is a native of Arizona and studied Business Communication at Arizona State University. He has been living in the Charlotte area since 2006. Chris grew up playing basketball, football and running track and has had a passion for sports and fitness his entire life. After suffering two separate injuries, both requiring surgery, he saw the important role specialized training and research played in his own recovery. Chris then obtained an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal training certification, hoping to help others recover from injuries and maintain a high level of strength and fitness. Chris loves helping people reach their personal strength and fitness goals, always learning through the process.

It also allows him to introduce his clients to various styles of fitness training, which always keeps the workouts new and interesting. 

    Having a personality that people gravitate to makes Carlos’ chosen profession as trainer ideal!  His goal is to see people succeed at their goal.  His workouts are focused, varied, and professional with a twist of fun included!  “Always learning” is what Carlos prides himself on.

    Caren's passion for health and fitness began many years ago with Jane Fonda exercise videos. Soon after she joined Bally's and enjoyed participating in group fitness classes and workouts on the cardio machines. It was when she started working with a trainer that she realized the importance of combining a strength training program with cardio. She then, with the encouragement of her trainer, pursued her calling as a trainer herself. Caren received her personal training certification through NASM and has been training for 5 years. She is very passionate about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and believes your primary focus should be on the health and wellness aspect of diet and exercise. The physical results are one of the perks that comes along with proper nutrition and a well balanced exercise program. Caren wants your journey to good health to be the ride of your life, so no matter what your fitness level and goals are, she will keep you energized with lots of variety in your workouts or by just keeping it simple. Caren is a mother of 4 and enjoys staying active outdoors as much as she can. She likes to ski, bike, run, water sports and hike.

    Heather has been in the fitness industry for many years.  She has earned her Certified Personal Training License from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Merchandising and Business from East Carolina University.  Her experience training clients ranges from group training, youth, and one-on-one fitness programs.

    Her passion is to help clients see and believe anything is possible with hard work and a happy heart. She enjoys teaching clients that success comes from within and that the human body is an amazing machine that can do great things!

    Heather and her husband reside in Mooresville with their three daughters.  She loves to strengthen her body and mind by strength training and reading.  She has competed in two National Physique Committee Bikini Competitions.

I completed my Master's degree in May 2017, and moved to Charlotte shortly after.

    I became certified as a personal trainer through ACE in January 2015, and I soon began working at Purdue's Rec Center. There I was able to work with clients of all ages, backgrounds, fitness levels, and goals and gained experience in individual, buddy, and small group training sessions.  As fitness and nutrition go hand in hand, I found myself also getting more and more interested in nutrition and became certified through NESTA as a Fitness Nutrition Coach. 

    Practicing a healthy lifestyle has and continues to have so many benefits for me, and I truly believe regular exercise can enhance one's quality of life. I am extremely happy and thankful to continue having the opportunity to positively influence and help others at Fitness Together. I believe in doing what it takes to regain your health and reach your goals, while enjoying and trusting the process - come train with me!

  • Andrew Kuzynski
    Exercise Specialist/Kinesiologist

    Andrew graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Health and Fitness. He is an aspiring strength and conditioning coach while holding the USAW Level 1 certification and is ultimately working towards his PhD in the field of Kinesiology. Focusing on bar exercises with old fashion training techniques are things Andrew truly believes shows the most results.

    Andrew treats every single client like they are his own athletes. Taking every single step with a scientific approach, Andrew uses proper exercise progression while adding his own unique twist to obtain optimal results. Seeing his clients improve not only physically but overall in life is something Andrew loves to be a part of. "The body achieves what the mind believes."

  • Josh Carter
    Trainer

     Josh Carter has been with the FT team since Oct of 2013. 

    Josh was taught the importance of health and fitness at the young age of ten when his father took him to the Catawaba Valley YMCA. For years later the hobby grew into an obsession when his father purchased a weight set and set it up in the garage. Since then Josh has strived for fitness and in July of 2013 decided to share his knowledge and help others adopt life changes promoting a healthy mind, body and spirit. After gaining his personal training certification through ACE ( American Council on Exercise), Josh is now perusing more certifications.  Josh loves the atmosphere that FT provides because it gives him the ability to focus on each client individually. With 2 years under his belt here he has helped people of all sizes and ages move toward and reach their fitness goals. Josh thrives off the opportunity to change his clients’ lives just as he changed his own. He loves having the creative freedom to keep his clients motivated and excited about exercise.

  • Bryan Wisdom, M.A.
    Owner/Operator

    Bryan has two decades of experience in the health and fitness industry. “I’m most excited about how well my staff and I implement functional training into each and every workout.” He received his B.S. in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and his Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. Bryan spent nearly five years training clients in biomechanics at the Egoscue Method exercise therapy company in San Diego, California. He was certified by the NSCA and has worked with NFL, NBA, and professional golfers. He has assisted clients with postural and biomechanical issues and uses exercise to restore the body to proper function. “For me training is about getting to know my clients, and finding the best way to help them attain their goals.”

    For almost a decade he has served the Mooresville community as owner/operator of Fitness Together Mooresville. During that time he has built a great staff-“All my team members go through a very specific training system learning posture and corrective movement. It’s great to see how much of an IMPACT our trainers make in our client’s lives.”  You may see him out on the lake or a trail doing things that make him come alive. His passions include surfing, wakeboarding, SUPing, trail running, and biking.

    Fitness Consultant, certified personal trainer

    Chris is a native of Arizona and studied Business Communication at Arizona State University. He has been living in the Charlotte area since 2006. Chris grew up playing basketball, football and running track and has had a passion for sports and fitness his entire life. After suffering two separate injuries, both requiring surgery, he saw the important role specialized training and research played in his own recovery. Chris then obtained an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) personal training certification, hoping to help others recover from injuries and maintain a high level of strength and fitness. Chris loves helping people reach their personal strength and fitness goals, always learning through the process.

His certifications include yoga, pilates, martial arts, and weight training.  Carlos’ background provides him with the tools necessary to work with all clients. It also allows him to introduce his clients to various styles of fitness training, which always keeps the workouts new and interesting. 

    Having a personality that people gravitate to makes Carlos’ chosen profession as trainer ideal!  His goal is to see people succeed at their goal.  His workouts are focused, varied, and professional with a twist of fun included!  “Always learning” is what Carlos prides himself on.

    Caren's passion for health and fitness began many years ago with Jane Fonda exercise videos. Soon after she joined Bally's and enjoyed participating in group fitness classes and workouts on the cardio machines. It was when she started working with a trainer that she realized the importance of combining a strength training program with cardio. She then, with the encouragement of her trainer, pursued her calling as a trainer herself. Caren received her personal training certification through NASM and has been training for 5 years. She is very passionate about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and believes your primary focus should be on the health and wellness aspect of diet and exercise. The physical results are one of the perks that comes along with proper nutrition and a well balanced exercise program. Caren wants your journey to good health to be the ride of your life, so no matter what your fitness level and goals are, she will keep you energized with lots of variety in your workouts or by just keeping it simple. Caren is a mother of 4 and enjoys staying active outdoors as much as she can. She likes to ski, bike, run, water sports and hike.

  • Heather Van Epps
    CERTIFIED TRAINER

    Heather has been in the fitness industry for many years.  She has earned her Certified Personal Training License from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Merchandising and Business from East Carolina University.  Her experience training clients ranges from group training, youth, and one-on-one fitness programs.

    Her passion is to help clients see and believe anything is possible with hard work and a happy heart. She enjoys teaching clients that success comes from within and that the human body is an amazing machine that can do great things!

    Heather and her husband reside in Mooresville with their three daughters.  She loves to strengthen her body and mind by strength training and reading.  She has competed in two National Physique Committee Bikini Competitions.
