FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Local Residents ‘Plank for a Purpose’ at Fitness Together Belmont, Raise Funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
BELMONT, MA – November 20, 2014 - To help local residents achieve their fitness goals this autumn and give back to the Breast Cancer Foundation, Fitness Together Belmont initiated the Plank for a Purpose program.
Fitness Together Belmont has donated $10 for every minute a plank was held at their location from September 29th – November 17th to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. “Most people work to achieve a stronger, leaner mid-section leading up to the holiday season but tend to gain autumn weight due to increasingly busy fall work schedules, school appointments, and other events,” said PJ Castaldini, owner of Fitness Together Belmont. “The Plank for a Purpose program is intended to motivate our clients to continue their fitness routines throughout the Autumn season, all while benefiting a worthwhile cause.”
During the Plank for a Purpose program, Fitness Together Belmont invited clients and local residents to hold a plank at their personal training studio located at 30 Church Street in Belmont inside the Watertown Savings Bank building, and donated $10 for every minute the plank was held.
Castaldini is proud to report 60 clients and local residents held planks for a total of 163 minutes and 15 seconds totaling $1,632.50. In addition, $370 in monetary donations was collected for a grand total of $2,002.50 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
