Matthew Kuhnen

Studio Manager
Personal Trainer
BS Exercise Science

Matt is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Preventative and Rehabilitative Exercise Science. During college, Matt became involved in various club sports and upon Graduating took a position in the field of sports performance where he worked one-on-one with aspiring athletes. During this time he helped athletes of all levels reach their goals whether it was making the varsity team, getting back on the field after an injury, or becoming a scholarship athlete.

After spending a year working strictly with athletes, Matt decided that he wanted to switch his focus to help a broader population improve their quality of life. In August of 2007, Matt became a member of the Winnetka Fitness Together team and in 2010 accepted the position of Studio Manager of Fitness Together Winnetka.

Joseph Pocztowski

Personal Trainer
B.S. Exercise Science
C.S.C.S

Joe earned a B.S. in Movement Science with a concentration on Exercise Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2008 he became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). After college, Joe put his strong background in the athletic field to use by working with athletes from a variety of sports. He helped them to reach goals of improving their speed, power, and agility while gaining experience with a variety of post rehabilitative athletes. Joe has a great talent and passion for hockey.

In addition to playing, he has refereed professional hockey for the past eight years. Joe joined the Fitness Together team in April of 2010. He believes that one-on-one training in a private setting is the ultimate win-win combo for both the client and the trainer.

Sarah Awe

Personal Trainer
M.S. Kinesiology

Sarah has been passionate about sports and living a healthy lifestyle since childhood.  She started playing basketball at age 10 in her hometown of Melbourne Beach, FL and continued through college.  She graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 2004 with a BA in Psychology.  After taking a year off and joining AmeriCorps*NCCC  in California, she returned to school as a Graduate Assistant for the women’s basketball team at Southern Arkansas University where she earned her MS in Kinesiology. 

Sarah started her career in 2007 at Fitness Together in Delafield, WI.  After gaining much knowledge and experience she decided to try a new niche in sports performance at Tommy Z’s PureSpeed in Palatine, IL.  As manager of the facility she was given the opportunity to learn new skills and work with a variety of talented athletes. 

"Returning to the FT community in Winnetka is exciting and I am is looking forward to helping people reach their personal goals.  Living a healthy lifestyle impacts one’s life in so many ways; when you feel good about yourself, it makes life’s challenges much easier to take on."

In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, playing basketball and tennis, traveling, watching movies, reading and attempting to cook. 

Adam Dawdy

Personal Trainer
B.A. Integrative Physiology
ACSM Health and Fitness Specialist.

Upon graduating from the University of Colorado in 2007, Adam received his B.A. in Integrative Physiology, a multidisciplinary approach to studying the way the human body works, with a focus on exercise physiology and biomechanics. He is passionate about educating others on the impact these changes can have on their quality of life, and helping them implement healthy habits.

Adam has had success with clients of all ages and abilities, and enjoys combining his skills and knowledge with Fitness Together's nutrition and exercise programs. His certification, ACSM's Health/Fitness Specialist, is ACSM's advanced personal trainer certification, and is focused on helping all people, regardless of health or athletic status, to exercise safely and effectively.

In his free time, Adam is an avid cyclist, and enjoys long distance riding. He is also an active musician, and home recording enthusiast.
