Been training for 3+ years!

There are a lot of gyms in Denver that offer personal training. Why did you choose Fitness Together over other gyms?

       I chose to workout at Fitness Together because of a recommendation from a friend.  I had worked out once before with a personal trainer at another gym, but was not very happy with it.  I enjoy my workouts with Fitness Together much more for several reasons.  But to name a couple, the quality of the workout is much better and I really enjoy the variety of exercises we do.

 

What do you like best about one-on-one personal training?

            The best thing about one-on-one personal training is the relationship I have developed with my trainer.  Dusty knows exactly what I am capable of and pushes me to my limit every time we workout.  All of the trainers at Fitness Together value the clients as individuals, and make it a priority to see that they are being challenged every time they walk in the door.  Dusty knows what my goals are and knows exactly what I need to do in order to accomplish them.

What are some of the advantages of training in a private room as opposed to a large gym setting?

            The atmosphere in a private room makes it much easier for me to take risks and try things that I might otherwise stay away from.  I am very comfortable working out at Fitness Together.  The trainers are professional and the equipment in the private rooms is top notch.

How does your personal trainer help to keep you motivated?

             My trainer keeps me motivated by having me set goals.  We set goals frequently (both short term and long term), and Dusty always makes it a priority to see that I am making progress in the right direction.  In addition to setting goals, he makes sure that I am working to the highest level I am capable of (on each and every exercise).

Whether you’re here for strength, weight loss, or overall health and fitness, what keeps you on track with your goals?

             I come to Fitness Together for all of the listed reasons, but it is the accountability my personal trainer places on me that keeps me on track.  Our conversation always covers my diet and activity level outside of the gym.  I didn’t have to make drastic life changes, I simply had to understand what I needed to do in order to accomplish the things that are most important to me (my trainer helped me realize this).  I have been working out at Fitness Together for a few years, and I honestly believe that I would not be anywhere near the quality of shape I’m in without their support.

Five years ago, I began training three days a week with Andrea, and I dropped 20 pounds in a year's time. Not only did I look and feel much better, but my perspective each morning was more optimistic and my energy level increased so that I could put in a full day's work without tiring. Unfortunately, at the end of that year I injured my neck when we moved from one house to another, I was forced to stop training, and the inevitable happened. My weight ballooned, I was less optimistic, and I tired easily. 

After a disc fusion and the subsequent recovery requirement of intensive physical training, I was able to return to my weekly routine with Andrea. Of course, the 20 pounds disappeared again, and my optimism and energy increased dramatically. Needless to say, I'm a believer! And, although I didn't think I would ever say this, I actually miss it when I'm out of town and have to cancel my sessions. 

As a 60-year old female, I fervently believe the recent press about the benefits of exercise to successful aging. I am grateful that Fitness for Life exists, that I had the gumption and the resources to walk in the door and make the necessary commitment, and that Andrea is ready for me with a smile on her face and high expectations for our 45 minute workout. Thanks to Fitness for Life, I actually look forward to my "golden years"!

There are a lot of gyms in Denver that offer personal training. Why did you choose Fitness Together over other gyms?

 I was a Fitness Together client when I lived in California and actively looked for an FT gym when I moved to Denver. The FT name and reputation made it my first choice, but the Wash Park team made it my only choice. I never had to look anywhere else.

What do you like best about one-on-one personal training?

 I really enjoy the consistency of a one-on-one relationship, and know that my trainer is with me every step of the way.  I like knowing that we’re on the journey together and that we will share in my successes. Whenever I finish a triathlon or a marathon, I can’t wait to tell my trainer, “We did it!”

What are some of the advantages of training in a private room as opposed to a large gym setting?

For me it’s all about focus. I know that the same effort that I put in at FT in 45 minutes would take at least twice as long in a large gym. Not only, in time wasted waiting for equipment, but the distraction of having other things going on around me.  For a busy professional, it’s the best way to maximize time and stay efficient.

How does your personal trainer help to keep you motivated?

 In the 5+ years I’ve been a Fitness Together client, I’ve never done the same workout twice. My trainer is constantly changing things up to keep me motivated and challenged.

Whether you’re here for strength, weight loss, or overall health and fitness, what keeps you on track with your goals?

By scheduling appointments and focusing with my trainer on my interim goals, I know that no matter how low I’m dragging on any given day, I will always feel better after a workout.

Location was good, pricing seemed reasonable and I really liked my trainer (Andrew) and the gym has a fun and positive vibe.

2.    What do you like best about one-on-one personal training? 

When I work out by myself, I don’t stretch enough, push myself as hard, or vary my routine enough-- and it takes me a lot longer.  Andrew always introduces new exercises and keeps me moving between sets, which makes it a fun and more intense workout.

3.    What are some of the advantages of training in a private room as opposed to a large gym setting? 

Don’t have to wait for equipment, so there is no downtime and it’s more private, so it’s more comfortable.

4.    How does your personal trainer help to keep you motivated? 

Andrew is great at pushing me without being obnoxious and without putting too much stress on my knees and back.  I’ve never been injured while working out with him—he’s great at giving me an intense workout while accommodating for issues I have with my body.  He challenges me to push myself but makes it fun—it’s a very quick 45 minutes.

I’ve seen really great progress in the year plus that I’ve been coming.  I feel stronger, leaner  and more fit than I have in years.

I was drawn to the personal attention of one-on-one training without the hassle of parking at a big gym.  I also liked the location and the fact that I could try it out with 3 sessions reasonably priced sealed the deal. 

2.    What do you like best about one-on-one personal training?

I really enjoy my trainer.  Although I am often exhausted at the end of a 45 minute session, we have fun and it the time goes by quickly.  I also like how innovative he is with new exercises.  It is hard to get board when everyday brings a new activity.

3.    What are some of the advantages of training in a private room as opposed to a large gym setting?

Private room training allows us to have access to the RIGHT machine when I need it.  Rather than waiting in line, which often happens at the bigger gyms, we have what we need when we need it.

4.    How does your personal trainer help to keep you motivated?

Andrew and I really have a good time together.  Although he has several clients, I always feel that I am important.  The 45 minute session really flies by when we are working out.

Seeing results has kept me motivated.  I feel better when I work out and I have already seen improvement in my strength and speed.   The fact that I enjoy coming in and working out with Andrew also makes it easy to stay motivated.

I am embarrassed to admit it, but I belong to two other gyms, but I know myself and I know the results I get at Fitness Together. I cannot train myself, nor do I have as much fun going at it alone. Bottom line is Fitness Together is my best option to see big results quickly!

2. What do you like best about one-on-one personal training?

Setting goals and reaching those goals, not to mention the staff is a great group of dedicated professionals that hold me accountable.

When I meet with Dusty, I feel like I am his only client and he is 100% focused on me and my goals. Also, I don’t have to feel embarrassed by my poor pull up numbers.

We set goals, both in and out of the gym. Dusty is constantly reminding me of those goals and offering realistic solutions to meet them.
