Rob,
A+ for the experience with Fitness Together! It truly is revolutionizing my life. I feel the best that I have felt in a long time.
The workouts are well-balanced and challenging, but not so difficult, that my other activites - work and dancing - are compromised. Jag and Bridget are doing an outstanding job! They are specifically incorporating moves to support my dancing - such as moves that require balance, as well as strength. And lots of emphasis on core - which is very important for dance.
I honestly did not think the nutrition component would be that helpful because I have a good diet. That has been the biggest surprise. I have been eating too much of good things - understanding portion sizes has been key. Also, the small, multiple meals throughout the day have really kept my blood sugar and energy levels even. A truly remarkable difference.
It is very obvious that you and your staff are fully committed to and care about the health and well-being of your clients! I very much appreciate all of your efforts! The experience with Fitness Together has been oustanding!

Hi Lynn,
As we were discussing, I wanted to share the improvements I’ve noticed since coming to FT so that you and Rob can share them with the team.
The first thing I noticed was that I rarely take Advil anymore. One day recently I needed it for something and it dawned on me that it had been a long time since I’d taken any. Previously it seemed I was popping it for one ache or pain or another just about every other day.
Another thing that made me realize how much better shape I’m in was last week’s snow. I spent two hours shoveling one morning and didn't experience any lower back pain. Whatsoever. Not then, not later, not the next day. And there was no Advil involved either! :-) You and everyone else at FT knows what a big statement that is for me!
As I’ve shared with you, I struggle with sleeplessness now and then. One of the worst parts of this for me is feeling like I can barely get through the day when I haven’t slept well the night before. Sometime in the last couple of weeks I had a bout of insomnia. I remember lying there thinking “well, I have time to take a nap tomorrow if I really need to.” At about 10:30 the next night I realized that, not only did I feel perfectly fine right then, but that I hadn’t been tired all day. I’m sure I would suffer worse consequences from more than one sleeplessness night in a row, but I attribute the work I’m doing at FT to my ability to better handle the one-off situations like this last one.
All of these things are far more important and valuable to me than fitting into a smaller size or seeing the number on the scale go down. Those things are great and desirable of course, but the superficial stuff isn't why I came to FT. When I first spoke with Rob I told him that, while I want and need to lose weight, I was coming to him because I want to be more fit and healthy. With the help of everyone at FT, I feel more fit and healthy than I have in years and I know that I will just continue to feel better and better. So thank all of you!!

In the middle of a busy day, I had an opportunity to have a de-stressing exercise session at the Fitness Together of Tyson Corner. After a 45 min session with a trainer I felt relaxed physically and emotionally and as an additional bonus I really felt connected and aligned with my physical body, which moved my mind towards a relaxed and creative mood.
I have experienced and learned simple and effective routines for correcting my posture challenged by long hours in sitting in front of a computer.
The personal attention from Fitness Together was also essential in correcting my posture while performing the exercises I have been routinely doing on my own in the past. That revealed to me that I was putting myself at risk of injury, while exercising on my own without paying attention to my posture. I see the practical wisdom of having a personal session with a FT trainer to learn a new exercise program.

My journey to improve my overall health and to quit smoking after almost 30 years began in February, 2010. I joined Fitness Together and started off training three times a week to reach my goals by my 49th birthday on June 18. With the help of my trainer, Pete McGarry, I gave up smoking, increased my workout intensity and was able to focus on my diet. I quit smoking by mid-April, had lowered my body fat by 18% and dropped ten pounds by mid-June. I have Fitness Together of Tysons to thank for helping me reach my goals! I’ve never felt better in my life and I’m so proud of myself that I quit smoking.

As you know, today I ran my first 5K. I honestly can't believe I did it. The whole thing--save the pain in my shins--seemed a little surreal.
When I look back at this year so far I think of other things--wearing a sleeveless shirt for the first time (and not being embarrassed about it), squatting and bench pressing more than my body weight, and of course, training for the marathon this December--and I realize that all of this is because of the amazing partners I've found in all of you at FT.
We've talked before about how you saved my life. But you guys also have changed my life, in more ways than I can even count. I know you know that, but as everyone's lives are so crazy all the time, I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you.

As a Physical Therapist, I have spent my career teaching others how to heal their injuries, lessen their muscle and joint pain, and utilize methods to prevent further injury. I have always taught that movement and strengthening should be efficient, which is what the body is designed to be. With a firm belief in functional training, I placed myself in the very capable hands of the dedicated personal trainers at Fitness Together. Their knowledge of how the body is most efficient in movement is impressive. For each forty-five minute session, I was watched closely so as to not sustain injury as I increased my muscle strength, endurance, and sense of balance. I discovered Fitness Together and met Rob Graveline when I was looking for a trainer for my 15 year old son. My son was in excellent physical condition, playing quarterback on his freshman football team and then his season abruptly ended due to an injury. His doctors discovered a serious problem with one of his kidneys and he endured many months of medical appointments, tests, procedures and hospitalizations. My son's activity level decreased substantially as did his physical conditioning. When my son was ready to start working out again I wanted to find a trainer I could trust to work with him, a trainer who would evaluate his medical issues, design a program specifically for him, and then closely monitor his progress in order to identify and adjust for any complications. Fitness Together was the perfect solution for us. The trainers provided valuable feedback along the way and information they provided led my son’s doctor to make beneficial medication adjustments.
As an added bonus, Fitness Together was good for me too. I’d been intending for some time to get a fitness routine going. Like most moms, my days are very fragmented by getting my family to and from all the places they need to go. Fitness Together made it possible for me to schedule my sessions at the same time I was there with my son. The scheduling convenience was instrumental in getting me started and helping me turn my good intentions into actions. I remember Rob explaining how important movement is to our daily lives. He said that movement, though often discounted, is just as important to our overall health as eating and sleeping. While I wouldn't think of going through a day without eating or sleeping, I considered exercise to be an activity I could put off if I didn’t get around to it. Rob described how over time such a philosophy leads to unnecessary injuries and other physical problems. He helped me develop a mindset that makes it easier for me to find the motivation to incorporate exercise into my daily life. As an added incentive, since starting the program I have more energy and I feel better overall. Fitness Together views each client as an individual and they design a plan specifically suited to help you reach your specific goals, they make you feel like your goals are just as important to them as they are to you.
