"Before training with Cathy, my weight had really started to take a toll on my joints. I was no longer able to participate in activities I truly enjoy, such as, racquetball and volleyball. In fact, just walking and climbing stairs had become painful.
Cathy has really helped me turn things around! She is top rate at designing and conducting effective and individualized training sessions, including when she had to consider injuries resulting from participating in my sports leagues. I have appreciated and enjoyed the variety of the workouts, as well as her attentiveness to ensuring that each and every exercise is done with perfect form.
Initially, the changes in eating habits that Cathy prescribed were not easy for me. During the first month, I had constant cravings, especially for sweets. The practical advice, sound strategies provided, and frequent check-ins were helpful; and, I find that I now enjoy and prefer healthier foods.
I am able to participate fully in sports again with improved performance. I have also been able to start jogging to train for my first 5K in decades. In just 8 months, I feel that I have gone from the worst to the best shape of my life!"

"A funny thing happened when I joined Fitness Together--- I discovered I like to exercise! Before I started at FT about 15 months ago, I never exercised. With the help and encouragement of great trainers, I started setting goals. I was having so much fun that I didn't realize how much I was building up my strength and overall fitness level. I'm very proud of my accomplishments over the last year. The weight loss was great, but I am more excited about how happy I am and how healthy I feel. One of my original long term goals was to jog. Fitness Together is, and has been, the motivation and instruction needed for me to make positive physical changes in my life. When I started at Fitness Together, I was at a low point in my life; at almost 360 lbs, suffering from high blood pressure and depression, I was at a point where I needed to make changes.
The first day, Cathy told me that not only were we going to work on the exercise, but also on my diet. I told her NO and she, without skipping a beat, said YES. This was the beginning of a love/hate relationship that forced me to face the truth of how I had been abusing myself.
With Cathy and my eventual willingness to persevere through anything and everything (including the dreaded crunches) has caused a positive change, not only in my weight, but also in no longer needing any blood pressure or depression medication.
Though I still love to eat, instead of turning to food when I am stressed, I turn to running and other physical activities. Later this month, I hope to complete a 1/2 marathon (13 miles). I may be the one running it but, FT and Cathy made it possible.

Thanks for all of your help this winter. The weight training, exercise and nutrition advice have really paid off. I'm just getting into the Golf season and clearly in the best shape I've been in for MANY years. The scores show it and the big thing is how I feel during and after each round. I played three straight days on the Cape a few weeks ago and had the lowest total gross scores on the 20 man roster.

What distinguishes "FT" from the rest is figuring out what the individual is all about. You hit it on the head with me. I am a firm believer to truly help someone, is to get to find out how they work inside first, then you have them! You did that with me, and I thank you for caring.
Also, adding Randi is a pleasure! Having both of you teach me made it easier when I did not pick up on something one way, I did get it with the other person (most of the time!) HA!
I just received my results from my Dr. …My Cholesterol is FANTASTIC! YEAH!!!!!! NO more pills as long as I keep this up.

In 2005, I hurt my back for the second time. I could barely walk and I couldn't play tennis. I saw an ad for FT and decided to give it (exercise) a try instead of going back to a chiropractor.
After just a couple of months, I was seeing and feeling the results of training. On my return to tennis, all my friends noticed too and commented on my legs and arms!
I have a lot more endurance and speed on the court and just feel good.
No one believes me when I tell them my age and that I have 3 grandchildren. I'm one of those, "I'll do it later" when it comes to exercise. I'm still going to FT, I need the help and support FT provides and I like the friendly atmosphere.
