Get to know our friendly Fitness Together Personal Training Staff at Timonium

Mark Dees

Owner

Mark has been in and around the fitness industry for the last 15 years, including regional manager positions for industry leading companies such as MET-Rx Sports Nutrition and Polar Heart Rate monitors. After seven years training and managing fitness staff in health clubs, Fitness Together became the next step to refine the personal training business and really deliver to clients results-based personal training. A Baltimore native, Mark lives in Timonium with his wife Kelly, who is the event management director for Charm City Run. His spare time is spent assisting her with the logistics and production of over 50 running and multisport events per year.

Todd Deese

Personal Trainer

Todd holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Over the past five years, he has been involved in various aspects of the fitness industry and currently works full time for Fitness Resource handling equipment sales and facility design in the Metro DC region.
He enjoys strength training, Pilates classes and running. He has completed two half marathons and is looking forward to completing a marathon in the near future. Todd is currently studying to pass the ACE certification test this spring.

Ryan Collins

Personal Trainer

Ryan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University in December 2009. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a certified personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Ryan has over 6 years of personal training experience through AFAA, which has given him a great deal of exposure working with clients ranging from beginners to the skilled. As a former power lifter, he was once the 165 lbs. bench press record holder in the state of Arkansas. He also had the opportunity to serve as a performance coach for Perform Fit as an intern. Ryan once served as the lead author for a scientific research study at Salisbury University. Originally from Arkansas, Ryan lived in Salisbury, MD for 2 years while completing his schooling. In his spare time, Ryan loves working out, listening to music, going on runs with his dog, and spending time with his wife. Whatever your fitness goals may be, Ryan can help you achieve the results you desire.

Chris Weatherholtz

Personal Trainer

Chris graduated from Towson University and holds a BS in Exercise Science. He is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has 3 years of experience with personal training since he was certified through NSCA. Chris has worked with a broad range of clients from 12 years old to 85 years old, division 1 athletes to sedentary and seniors. His clients goals include injury prevention and rehab, weight loss, strength training, balance, coordination, and flexibility. He has done intern work at Morgan State University as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Chris played college football, has run marathons and competed in Olympic Weight Lifting. He is a passionate personal trainer, with the intention of continually improving his knowledge and techniques. To achieve that goal, he attends continuing education seminars and studies the latest research through peer-reviewed journals.

Julie Miley

Personal Trainer

Originally from Michigan, Julie moved to Maryland after college in 2005. She graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in Health Management. Julie has worked in health-related non-profit areas the past 6 years.  She worked with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s endurance sports training program, Team In Training, and the YMCA.  Throughout her life, Julie has always had a passion for health and fitness.  She loves trail running, cycling, bouldering and mountaineering.  She has run two 50 mile and five 50K trail run and four marathons.  She has also cycled around Lake Tahoe, climbed Mount Cotopaxi (19,347 feet) and Mount Shasta (14,179 feet) and has traveled to France and throughout the US to rock climb with her husband.  Julie is currently studying for the NASM certification and loves helping people reach their personal goals. 

Phil Gillotte

Personal Trainer

Phil graduated from Shepherd College with a degree in Exercise Science.  He earned a second degree at Towson University with a degree in Physical Education.  Phil has been in the health and wellness field for over 11 years.  He has experience working as a Personal Trainer, Physical Education Teacher, and a Rehabilitation Assistant.  Along with personal training, Phil currently runs his own business, Elite Performance Sports, in which he organizes sports camps and clinics for children of all ages. 

He recently moved back to Maryland from Minnesota with his wife and two small children.  Phil is an avid sports fan and in his spare time loves to watch, coach or compete in all of them.

Chris Stires

Personal Trainer

Chris graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Kinesiology. He is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is also currently studying to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal training exam this spring.

Specific areas of interest for Chris include strength and conditioning and athletic performance. He has played baseball all his life, including playing for Calvert Hall while in high school and also playing at Stevenson University. Chris is also passionate about helping clients with weight loss, general health and well being, or any other specific goals a client may have.

Chris believes in “practicing what you preach,” and is very serious about his own health and wellness and continually challenging himself physically. He believes this helps him understand challenges clients may face and how to most successfully put them on a path to achieving their goals as fast and efficiently as possible.
