It Was All A Matter Of A Few Changes

When I first started to lose a little weight last year, it wasn’t by design.  I hadn’t been feeling well, and I lost a few pounds without really trying, or even realizing that I was losing.  I had been grossly overweight for years.  Fat.  Obese.

When I finally did realize that I was losing some pounds, and that my clothes were noticeably looser, I took stock of what I was doing that was different than all the other times that I actually tried to lose weight.  That’s when I realized that I had begun to change.

The changes that happened to me were of all kinds.  Some were voluntary; some were as a result of other changes.

I changed how much food I ate, of course.   But it’s more than that.\ I changed how I cooked and shopped for food.  I read labels.  I recommend that.

I changed how I thought about food.  Food is not my friend, my companion, my solace.  Food is what I need to live.  But food is also not the enemy.  It is now just a small part of my day.

I changed my habits about exercise.  I used to hate exercise.  I avoided it.  Now, I enjoy it. Exercise has changed me in ways I never thought possible.  Becoming a client at FT was probably one of the most important things I have ever done for myself.  I have learned to do amazing things.  I lift weights, I stretch, and I build healthy muscle mass while losing fat mass.  I am building strength, endurance and flexibility.  As a result, I can go about my daily life far more easily. 

Exercise has more benefits than a healthy body.  It helps create a healthier mind.  When I leave the Fitness Center I am on an emotional high.  It lasts most of the day.  The exercise has given me more self confidence, and I feel like I can do anything I try.  Fitness Together workouts are specifically designed for each client.

I changed my health. As a result of losing weight and becoming more fit, I no longer have to take medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol.  I am no longer pre-diabetic.  My doctor says I have added years of health to my life.

As a result of these changes, I have lost nearly 100 pounds.  And I have a few more to go.  But I have the confidence that I will get there.  My self confidence is at an all time high, and rightly so. 

Randy Martin

Randy was named client of the year for 2008. He was presented with a trophy at our three year anniversary party. This party was held at Ferrante’s Marketplace Café on the Spokane south hill.

Randy was chosen as client of the year based on his dedication to change and outstanding results he has achieved in the last year. Since joining us as a client Randy has lowered his total cholesterol by 32 points. Decreasing his Triglycerides by 111 points and increasing his good cholesterol. Randy’s hard work is also paying off in the dressing room. He now has to buy all new pants after trimming his waist size by almost 8 inches. Last but not least Randy has lost an outstanding 38 pounds reducing his body fat by 8 %. Congratulations Randy!

Sarah

Getting Rid of the Baby Weight

Sarah came into us within a couple months of having her first baby. She was trying to lose the weight she had gained during her pregnancy. She came to us for help and we got her started on a plan that would get her to her goals. Ultimately, Sarah lost over 40 pounds, almost 10% of her body fat, 48 inches off of her entire body, and 12 just from around her waist. Sarah has worked very hard to get the amazing results she has achieved and we are extremely proud of her.

Jim

The College Athlete Returns

Jim is a former college pitcher, who in his prime was lean powerful thrower. Jim was working with us on a limited basis and seeing results, but was not getting the complete results he wanted. We decided to put Jim on our dedicated 6 Week Body Jumpstart program where he was doing a workout everyday that we had planned out in detail for him. Jim took the program and ran with it. He did everything we asked of him, even the nutrition portion. After the six weeks, Jim saw amazing results for such a short time. His stomach shrank, his muscles were getting bigger (his initial goal), and most of all, his energy and health shot through the roof. Jim's results were a product of his hard work and dedication and we are so glad to see Jim has made a great change for his future.

Greg's FT Story

After almost two years of working out at a nearby gym I realized I was getting bored, the equipment wasn’t always available and the socializing was making workouts way too long. I met the FT staff about joining here. I told them I thought I was in pretty good shape (We have since laughed about that)!

He introduced me to my trainer and I am now in my second year here working out three mornings a week.

Everything has been fantastic! The environment is so positive and my trainer is so persuasive! He now has me doing cardio three or more days a week!

I am a huge fan of all the staff, especially my trainer, the facility, the intense 45 minutes workout and my personal results!
