The White House Federal Credit Union
The White House Federal Credit Union offered only a few loans and savings accounts at first. Over the following decades, however, the Credit Union expanded and adapted its products and services to meet the needs of members. With the gradual rise of the Internet, for example, electronic services such as a website, Online Banking and Online Bill Pay were introduced. These services provided members with more convenience and 24/7 access to their accounts.
Membership also expanded over subsequent decades. To accommodate this expansion, the Credit Union’s Main Office moved from the Executive Office Building to its current location at 1724 F Street, NW, in 2001. From a small mountain town in Pennsylvania, Justin’s’ family owned/operated a small natural foods store where he acquired an early awareness, education and appreciation for natural foods. In 2000 he graduated from Dickinson earning a B.A. in Environmental Studies.
In 2002 an active and outdoor lifestyle brought him to Boulder, Colorado where as a vegetarian he was consuming large amounts of peanut and other nut butters to satisfy protein needs.
Later that same year he started making nut butters in his kitchen at home with a food processor. Justin spent countless hours experimenting with roommates, co-workers and family members. With encouragement from immediate friends he began researching how to bring this idea to market through extensive free workshops at the Boulder Small Business Development Center and Colorado University’s Leeds School of Business. Through seminars, mentorship, study and hard work he launched a line of 16oz jars to local Colorado natural foods stores in 2004 while maintain a full time day job. In 2006 he created an on-the-go squeeze pack for himself and friends to have as a high-protein snack option while hiking, running, skiing, etc. The squeeze pack was a game changer for the business and now generates over 80% of Justin's revenue.
Justin is an avid backpacker, backcountry skier, mountain biker, reader and food/health nut.
