In 20 weeks, I’ve lost 20.76 pounds of fat (30 pounds total, but of those 30 nearly 21 were pure fat), I’ve increased my cardio strength and endurance, and made some true friends in my trainers. It’s been an incredible five months, and I have the measurements to show for it!
Just for fun, take a look at where I started and where I’ve gotten to:
At the beginning of February, I could do ten push-ups in a minute, and that was with a break! Now, I can do 35 push-ups in a minute with no breaks.
When I first started working out with Fitness Together Sammamish, I could do 19 sit-ups in a minute. Now, I can do 31 no problem.
My arms are stronger, my legs and back are stronger, and my overall body fat percentage has decreased by 5%. I’m a whole lot healthier than I was back in February. I have more energy, I sleep better, I look better, and I feel better.
I couldn’t have done it without my trainers. The accountability, knowledge, and guidance were all exactly what I needed to lose this weight, and I’ll take the lessons I learned from them into what I know will be a healthier future.
These people genuinely care about helping their clients, and they have the skills and tools to get the job done. All you have to do is everything they tell you. It isn’t easy, but it does work!
I’m immensely grateful to my Fitness Together trainers for helping me achieve my weight loss goals, and for making the process enjoyable!

I held a demanding job that required me to travel Monday to Friday every week. With the constant eating out, the long hours and the social drinking in the evenings, it wasn’t long before I gained weight. I hated how I looked, hated how I felt and everything stressed me out.
My husband had heard about Fitness Together and thought it might be a good match for me. No need to be embarrassed working out in front of anyone else. Fitness Together offered the opportunity to have someone keep tabs on me, ensuring my goal was always in mind, and that I would stick with the program. Now that was an idea worth considering.
It’s now been just about a year from when I took that first step into Fitness Together, and I have lost a third of me. I went from 195 pounds to 132 pounds. I look great, feel great, and I couldn’t have done it without the constant support and help that Amy provided. Fitness Together has been a life saver. I recommend it to everyone and anyone, no matter what obstacles or challenges they face.

I signed up with Fitness Together in March 2010. Although I had lost a substantial amount of weight on my own in 2009, I had hit a weight-loss plateau and realized that I could use some help. I didn’t want to slip back into bad habits due to my frustration with a lack of recent weight loss. I remembered reading a letter from Fitness Together which emphasized the studio’s personalized approach and the focus on “accountability” to help a person achieve their goals. When I went to the studio, I noticed right away that the private workout space was a big benefit compared to using the weight room at most gyms. You and your trainer are really able to focus on getting an efficient and effective workout since you have a private space and dedicated equipment. Also, I found the trainers to be very professional and personable. I signed up with Fitness Together right after my trial session. I set an aggressive goal for myself (30 lbs weight loss by June) because I wanted to break through my weight-loss plateau and re-invigorate myself. I fully committed to following the diet and exercise program.
I initially went to Fitness Together every day for a workout. Whether I had a scheduled training session that day or not, I used the encouragement and support I found at the studio to help me stick to my new cardio routine and to keep me on track on those days when I didn’t feel as motivated. (I was surprised and impressed to see that one of the staff would call if you didn’t show up to complete an independent cardio session that you’d promised to do!) When I’d mastered the indoor cardio equipment, my trainers encouraged me to start running outside to shake up my routine. They got me started competing in fun runs, and I’ve completed one 5k race and two 10K races since then. I didn’t see myself as a runner when I first came to Fitness Together, but my trainers knew that I could do it and now I do too!
I found the Fitness Together nutrition program to be sensible and easy to follow. For me, the most beneficial aspects of it were the journaling and the reviews with my trainer. Although I knew a lot about the basics of good nutrition, the journal helped me understand my eating patterns. Most importantly, I realized that although at times I was overeating or eating the wrong foods, those ‘mistakes’ were the exception and not the rule. I learned to focus on what I was doing right and celebrate those successes, rather than obsess about the times when I slipped off track. Similarly, the periodic reviews of my journal with my trainers helped keep me on track because I was accountable for tracking and discussing the data each week. Through these conversations, I also learned how to fine-tune my nutrition plan so that I felt good and had lots of energy. Overall, I found that the support and encouragement I got from my trainers really helped me believe that it was possible to achieve and maintain a lean body weight.
As someone who has used personal trainers at other gyms and participated in weight-loss programs like Weight Watchers, I have found Fitness Together to be the best investment that I’ve made in my health and wellness. Their approach combines a sensible nutrition plan, weight-training, and cardiovascular exercise with individual coaching to keep the client on track to meet his/her goals. With their help, I was able to achieve my goal of losing 30 pounds and go from a size 12 to a size 6. I continue to be a client.

I've been trying to lose weight for a year now. One day, I decided to try Fitness Together. 8 weeks ago I did my first physical assessment. I strictly followed it. Since then I lost 15 pound.
I got my body shape back. I feel so much better. I am happier and stronger. I cannot imagine my life now without working out.
Fitness Together is not only a great concept but also a great place to go. It is also a tremendous team. Their competency, their patience and their smiles made the difference.

I had dreamed for many years of someday having a personal trainer show me how to exercise properly for safe, effective results. I didn't have a clue how to get started on a fitness regime. When I heard about Fitness Together on the radio, I thought that it might be just the thing I was looking for. I went and checked it out and found that they were very willing to work with me to help me reach my goals in a way that made me feel comfortable.
I'll admit I was afraid before my first workout because I was a consummate weakling! But my trainer made me feel great, instilled confidence in me, and inspired me to do my best. I'm not kidding; I actually looked forward to my workout sessions! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, and I learned proper form and technique. Soon I was seeing muscles that I had never noticed before! I was so excited!
My trainer's sense of humor and thorough knowledge of fitness training made it a joy to come and work out, and I gained not only muscle tone, but a huge sense of accomplishment and confidence.
When I first came to Fitness Together, a busy work schedule and family life had physically worn me down; I was literally sick, and the doctors couldn't find anything medically wrong with me. Within two weeks of working out at Fitness Together, and journaling in my Accountability Journal, I no longer had any symptoms of illness. What is more important than your health? It has to come first so that you can be all that you want to in the other areas of your life. I believe you will not regret trying Fitness Together! It has been a HUGE blessing in my life, and I recommend it to everyone that I know, no matter what their age or lifestyle.

After two years of diet and exercise on my own I had hit a plateau; for the six months before I came to Fitness Together my weight had not budged. Finally in September of 2006 I decided that I needed help. I had worked with a personal trainer in the past with some success, but he was part of a large gym and I hadn't gotten very good results. So I was a little skeptical when I made my appointment with Juliana to see what Fitness Together had to offer.
The program quickly impressed me: the attention to my specific goals and obstacles, the very pragmatic and scientific assessment of where I was and the outline of how to get where I wanted to be. By November I had broken my plateau and lost almost 10 pounds. That was good, but after the holidays I knew that I needed to do better. The trainers helped me refocus my efforts and held out the goal: lose a total of 20 pounds by the end of March. Bob, Sheldon, and Trace never let me slip and the day I broke the 20 pound mark was one of the happiest in recent memory (I even took a picture of the scale as proof!).
In March, after coming for 6 months, I had a follow-up assessment and was not too surprised to see improvement across the board with some very dramatic improvements as highlights. I had to change most of my wardrobe and will have to do so again soon! I feel better than I have at any point in my life and am lighter than I have been in 10 years.
Although the responsibility for my success or failure is still my own, the FT team is there to keep me honest and keep me accountable and focused on what I can and will achieve.

I was driving to work one day and heard Lisa from 92.5 talking about working out with a personal trainer from Fitness Together. Lisa said that she had never liked working out and Mitch asked her what she liked about Fitness Together. She said that Fitness Together had one room and one trainer and it was very private. I was almost to my destination and liked what I was hearing about this fitness program. I scrambled to get a pen and write down the number that Lisa was giving out to her audience. I worked that day and kept thinking things like "could I afford my own personal trainer?" and did I have the time to do it. I liked the idea of not having to work out in a gym with other people, which I had done before and not very successfully. I still remembered the people dropping their weights around me. I also remember how they stayed the same size and seemed not to know how to advance in their workouts. The personal trainers at this club seemed bored and only interested in signing people up for new memberships.
I called Fitness Together the next day and was immediately impressed with how friendly and easy they were to talk to. I am a nurse and the trainer told me that nurses did not take care of themselves because they are always taking care of other people. I laughed when she said that, but knew in my heart how right she was. I am 63 years old and I knew that I did not want to get injured lifting weights the wrong way. I guess I forgot to tell you that in the last club I joined I had lifted the weight wrong and developed tendonitis.
I made an appointment at Fitness Together and committed to begin working out there. You can't put a price on your health. If you ask me if it is expensive to workout at Fitness Together, I would have to say that it is quite reasonable compared to what it would cost you to spend several days or months in a hospital being treated for high blood pressure or heart disease. I see this in many of the patients that are being treated in the hospital. This is a lot more fun and I've made a wonderful friend along the way. My trainer is interested in my progression and is dedicated to making sure that I lift those weights the right way.
I don't think I have had a day that I regretted making this decision to get healthier and stronger. This year I bought a stereo for my husband for Christmas. I was able to carry it across the mall and I was proud of that. I was the woman who had trouble carrying her grocery bags into her house from the car. I still remember my trainer telling me that it would take some time for me to get stronger and it is exciting to see that happening.
I hope if you are reading this letter that you will seriously commit to joining Fitness Together. You will be glad that you did.

When I first walked into the Sammamish Fitness Together facility, I had no idea how much it would change my life! I was exercising on my own and getting some results, but I knew I was missing something.
I found "IT" here with the help and guidance of my amazing trainer. At Fitness Together, I get the professional guidance to reshape my body along with the accountability and motivation to eat healthy. I found out I wasn't eating "enough" calories for all my physical activities!
In four short months, I achieved many goals that I hadn't thought possible or had given up on. I lost over 26 pounds and 6% body fat! I lost 20 inches and went from a size 16/18 to a size 12 petite! I am stronger than I can ever remember and I am running for the first time in my life.
I cannot say enough great things about this program and my awesome trainer. She inspires me to do my best and to know that my best is good enough. Together we have set goals and then she develops a program, just for me, to help me achieve those goals. She guides me so that I get the optimum results and stay on track.
I look forward to every day I get to work out with her. I can't wait to see where I'll be next year.
