My Health Story
Fitness has been a part of my life since I was in high school. However, 6 years ago I began to gradually slide into a sedentary place many others find themselves in today. In 2004, I was promoted in my job, relocated to Maryland, and celebrated the birth of my second child only a few months apart. With a high stress job and a very active house, I began making excuses for not exercising. Over the next year, eating out became the norm and my wife and I added a third child to our family. Slowly, my health was deteriorating.
In 2006, I took a physical and was shocked at the results! In very short order, my cholesterol level had risen 40 points and my resting heart rate had risen 10 beats per minute. I didn’t need a doctor, however, to tell me something was wrong. By that time, I was also having trouble buttoning my pants as well as difficulty sleeping through the night. I needed to make a change.
So, I took stock of my situation and dumped all the negative influences in my life. I committed to regaining control of my future both personally and professionally by becoming part of this great fitness franchise. In doing so, I am better able to provide an enjoyable lifestyle for myself and my family.
To be sure, I’m not asking for you to turn your life upside down to feel as great as I do today. I am only asking for you to commit to 45 minutes, 3 days a week with my one of trainers. Our fitness program will change your life.

Stacy Adams
Manager / Nutrition Consultant
Stacy is a certified personal trainer and nutrition consultant who has been in the industry for 8 years. The last four of these years have been spent helping clients at Fitness Together achieve their personal goals.
Athletics have been a part of Stacy's life since her early youth. She grew up playing a wide array of sports, but eventually found her love in the game of soccer. Soccer, along with her academic achievements, helped pay her way through college as a Division 1 scholar athlete.
After various injuries that put her on the sidelines, she found herself intrigued by the body's ability to recover and rebuild through proper exercise techniques and nutrition. This is when she decided to pursue a career in fitness/nutrition, obtaining her BS in Exercise Science and graduating with honors at the top of her class.
Stacy has a unique ability to apply her intricate knowledge of the human body to help enhance our clients’ fitness and weight loss goals. In her free time, she keeps herself active by working out daily, boxing, running, and enjoying the outdoors with her friends, family, and dog! Stacy has a true passion for helping others achieve their goals.

David Guevara
Fitness Coach
I am certified with AMFPT and worked under the President of NSPA and current Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Washington Nationals for 3 years prior to joining Fitness Together. Currently I am in my senior year at the University of Maryland studying Civil and Environmental Engineering. Personal training is something I enjoy, and it is my hope that you will enjoy training with me. I have learned from being a chubby kid that becoming healthier does not happen without dedication and lifestyle changes. I look forward to being a part of your healthy lifestyle. Let’s have some fun!

Sam Zanders
Fitness Coach
My philosophy is you have to make fitness your lifestyle and not a requirement. I have been an athlete all my life playing in a wide range of sports. But my first love is football, having played for Clemson University and professionally for the Toronto Argonauts for 3 years. As both a Division 1 and professional athlete, I have worked with some of the best strength coaches in the world. Let me show how being healthy and fit can change your life.

Inga Olsen
Fitness Coach
I’ve been an active runner for 20 years. I’ve always had a passion for running and physical fitness. Throughout high school and college I ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track. Currently, I run ultra marathons (50 or more miles), marathons, and half marathons. I have completed 6 JFK 50 mile footraces and I'm working on my next milestone of 10 JFK finishes. When I'm not training clients or running, I coach high school cross country, indoor and outdoor track at Catoctin. I also enjoy other outdoor sports including scuba diving, hiking, trail running, white water rafting, wake boarding, skiing, snowboarding, and biking. I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself both physically and mentally and having fun while doing it!
Although I am proud of all the medals and finishes that I have attained over the years, helping others realize and achieve their goals is the most rewarding experience. As your personal trainer it will be my goal to provide the purpose, direction and motivation needed to help you overcome any obstacles getting in the way of a healthier and more fit, you!

Vanessa Hailes
Fitness Coach
For as long as I can remember I've led an active lifestyle with tons of energy to burn and have always enjoyed challenging myself physically. I appreciate having a diverse athletic background, with 10 years of my youth dedicated to soccer, cheerleading, and rowing. After college, I started a dual career as both a 5th grade teacher and a group exercise instructor, but after two years decided that helping people acheive their fitness goals was the most rewarding. I have fully dedicated myself to personal training which allows me to use my skills as an educator, a team player, and a motivator. I believe in functional training with attention to detail and form, but never sacrificing an ounce of intensity.
When I'm not driving others to reach their fitness destinations, I have added marathon training to my own course to keep me fit and fast enough to catch my pomeranian when he escapes. I ran my first 10k in 2008, and completed my first full marathon in Kaua'i in 2009, and have hopes of qualifying for the Boston Marathon in the near future. I hail from Arlington, Virginia, and enjoy spending time with my roomates, traveling to Hawaii, and always cheering for the Redskins.
