Fitness Consultant

After being here at Fitness Together Reading for two and a half years all I can say is I love my job! There is nothing better than seeing clients reach their goals and become confident in themselves. I take great pleasure in seeing their success. I am a graduate of Salem State College and attained my certification as a personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. While working towards my Bachelor of Science degree in Sports, Fitness and Leisure at Salem State, I had several unique opportunities which enabled me to further gain experience in fitness and health. During my experiences as a varsity soccer player at Salem State, soccer camp counselor and intern, I have gained knowledge and experience related to exercise program development (strength training) and developed communication/leadership skills. I have always enjoyed maintaining an active lifestyle and making exercise fun! I have played sports all my life and continue to stay active! My goal as a fitness consultant is to motivate my clients and make exercise a fun part of their lives.

People ask me how and why I “ended” up as a personal trainer/yoga instructor. My response is always the same…. Due to severe low back injuries, if I don’t have fitness in my life I would be in pain. After years of rehabilitating my own injuries and seeing how significantly my life had changed, I decided that I wanted to share with other people what I had learned. I have been working as a personal trainer for over 6 years with certifications from National Academy of Sports Medicine, YogaFit and Fitness Resource America. My extensive knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics allows me to help clients achieve their fitness goals regardless of any physical limitations. Staying physically fit is a passion of mine, which enables me to motivate others while keeping it fun.

At a young age I developed a passion for fitness through playing sports. For thirteen years I played softball, being a part of the Central Mass Jr. Olympic team. While at Keene State College I played 4 years of rugby, becoming a member of the New Hampshire Select Side team. In 2006 I received my degree from Keene State College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Fitness. I hold certifications with American College of Sports Medicine and Red Cross First Aid/CPR. I have been with the Reading studio for two years now and I look forward to helping you meet your personal health goals and implementing fitness into your life. I stand by the motto work smarter, not harder!

I graduated from Keene State College with a B.S. in Promotion of Fitness. After college I did a 3-month internship at Boston University working with their strength and conditioning program. I spent the next year working in Marblehead MA training mostly with athletes. I have my C.S.C.S. and CPR certification. I have over 15 years of experience as a soccer player, 2 at the collegiate level. I also have helped manage and run soccer and conditioning camps. Currently I have been working at Fitness together for 1 year and half.

My Philosophy is that exercise can be broken down into three categories; Increasing performance, working to prevent an injury or rehabing from an injury. I also believe that each work out should incorporate an element from each of these categories. Exercise can also be used to test the mental strength as well as the physical tolerance of a person, whether you are pushing yourself to the limit or just a weekend warrior, you can find a way to add a component from each. “you can always use more strength”

Hi there! I am excited at the opportunity to join the Fitness Together Reading Team of trainers, and most importantly, the community of clients!

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Springfield College. My passion is training others to help them reach their health and athletic goals. I have had a passion for physical fitness/health and wellness from a young age as I have pulled my knowledge from ample athletic and professional experiences. In my four years of high school as a boarder at Deerfield Academy I lettered each of my 12 seasons in 5 different sports, captaining my soccer and swimming/diving teams my senior year. I moved on to Middlebury College where I was able to continue my soccer and diving athletic careers, but academically I felt lost.  During a year off from college academic pressures I found my perfect career path as a trainer! From that point forward I’ve done everything I can to stay current and knowledgeable in an ever-evolving field. I have my CSCS(Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification from the NSCA as well as my PICP level 2 from the Poliquin Strength Institute. I enjoy farthing my knowledge by continuing to read as much as I can and attend as many seminars etc. as I can.

I’ve educated myself for one reason, and that is to be the best trainer possible to help you get to where you want to be! I look forward to working with you!
