Aaron Atwood

Owner

In 2000, during Aaron’s freshman year at Endicott College he found himself becoming increasingly frustrated after putting on an extra twenty-five pounds. That’s when he decided to make a major lifestyle change. Rather than drinking beer and eating pizza. Aaron started spending more and more time at the gym training his body in many fun and challenging ways. On any given day he used various training techniques including strength and functional movements, intense cardiovascular training, road biking, and sport specific training. Not only did Aaron get himself in shape for everyday life, but he also prepared himself to play Defensive End on Endicott College’s first ever Varsity football team. His success in losing those extra twenty-five pounds, getting himself ready for the football field, re-shaping his body, and feeling healthier and more energized, helped him to realize this was the right career path for him. After graduating from Endicott College in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management, Aaron worked as a personal trainer at several gyms including; the Beverly YMCA, Mad Maggie’s Health Club in Norwood, and the Boston Sports Club. Aaron soon become frustrated with training at these gyms because clients didn’t receive the 1-on-1 private attention they needed. Aaron has been with the Fitness Together family since 2004 where he started off as a trainer at the Dedham location. In 2006 he was promoted to manager, and realized that his long term goal was to own his own studio. Aaron has been a certified personal trainer since 2001 through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and Fitness Together. He is also CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association. Aaron believes that fitness is more than simply a number on the scale. His honest approach with his clients has helped numerous people reach and surpass their fitness goals. Aaron believes that if you set aggressive goals and work hard to attain them, the results will speak for themselves.

Steve Vasquez

FT Health and Fitness Coach

As an Exercise Scientist from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, Steve has been involved in a number of research studies investigating various aspects of health and wellness.  He has familiarized himself with a variety of professional equipment for the measurement of numerous health variables. He has done research studies that examine abdominal fat, blood lipids, mood state and many other variables, and how they are affected by exercise.  During his course work, Steve trained participants using techniques such as weight training, functional training, yoga and sprint-interval training sessions for roughly 100 participants.  Significantly positive health changes fueled his interest to further pursue research in other areas of exercise science.  The following summer, Steve became a research technician at the First Responder Health & Safety Research Laboratory where he conducted maximal exercise tests with and without heat stress; as the research was applicable to the performance of firefighters.

Steve played competitively as a member of the Skidmore Men’s Soccer program, competing in the nationally renowned Liberty League.  Before his senior season, the men’s soccer team traveled to Brazil to train with the professional soccer team Esporte Clube Vitória and to compete with local clubs.

Prior to his collegiate career, Steve was a member of the Moses Brown championship soccer, lacrosse, and wrestling varsity teams.  Steve captained the boy’s varsity team to an SENE Championship title, and received New England Prep All-Star Honors.  During his free time, Steve enjoys playing music, drawing, and keeping active.  He believes that fitness is a lifetime pursuit, and with hard work and persistence, anything can be achieved.
