Cally Kokolakis

Client of the Month 2011

Cally has been with us for almost 3 months and she has already experienced great results from her hard work. She comes in 3 times a week and even when she has to cancel a session, she always makes sure to reschedule. 

Cally had amazing results from her last assessment. For example, Cally lost a total of 12.5 inches, melted off 3.3% body fat, her blood pressure dropped 16 points, her VO2 Max increased by 13.6 points, she increased her flexibility by 10 inches, and increased her strength by 4 lbs, plus all the extra energy she has for her busy life! 

Cally is great person that keeps herself very busy being a mom of 4, wife and running a business with her husband. Although she wishes her day had 30 hours, she always comes early to her workouts giving her best in each session. Sometimes she thinks she is not going to be able to complete an exercise, however she surprises herself and takes the exercises even further.

Good job Cally!

Bill Scannell

Client of the Month April 2011

Fitness Together would like to proudly pronounce Bill Scannell as our Client of the Month. Bill is always here on time and ready to work. He rarely misses workouts and if he does, he always does his best to make it up. No one here works as hard as Bill does. I can give him and another client the same boot camp and the average client will burn about 250 -300 calories where Bill burns 6-700 in 45 minutes. Its all due to his work ethic and intensity. He goes all out from beginning to end and never complains about anything. Bill feels a lot better physically and definitely sees a difference. He's also one of the only clients to ever request a boot camp weekly. Bill's "All Out" intensity is what we try to instill in every client here at FT. Way to go Bill. Keep up the great work.

Barbara Hine

Client of the Month March 2011

Fitness together would like to proudly announce that Barbara Hine is Client of the Month. Barbara came to FT to lose a few pounds and feel better physically. She’s only been with us for a few months but she has seen great results and a change in her body. Barbara is someone who has a goal and will give 110% to achieve that goal.  She understands that hard work is the recipe for success. When she began, Barbara’s cardiovascular endurance was lacking. Easily winded, she had a hard time getting through certain circuits. But over time, that has changed. That was something that needed to be developed and that’s what she did. She always stays for cardio after her session and always pushes the envelope. Coming from an athletic background, Barbara has high expectations of herself and that’s the determination and drive we try and instill in all clients here at FT.

Doug Doxey

Client of the Month September 2010

Fitness Together would like to proudly announce that Doug Doxey is our September 2010 Client of the Month. In as little as 6 weeks, Doug has managed to change his lifestyle and focus on a more balanced and a lot more active way of living. Since joining FT he never misses a session and if he does, he makes sure it’s always rescheduled. He is living proof that hard work pays off. His cardio vascular endurance has increased as well as his overall strength. Doug gained 34 lbs on his strength test, 2.5 inches on the sit and reach, gained 16 lbs of muscle and lost 6% body fat. Doug is determined to get into better shape and feel better mentally and physically. He is well on his way and with results like this in 6 weeks; he will be a new man in 6 months.

Lisa Scannell

Client of the Month February 2011

Fitness Together would like to proudly announce Lisa Scannell, as Client of the Month. Lisa has made great strides since arriving here at FT. Her never quit attitude and determination has led her to lose weight and increase her strength and endurance. When she began, Lisa was extremely winded after a few minutes into the workout. Now there is no exercise Lisa can't perform and no goal she can't attain. Not many people can get through a boot camp session at FT without resting. This is 40-45 minutes of consecutive exercises with very little rest and keeping her at an optimal heart rate. This takes endurance and a strong mind to not quit or have to rest because of exhaustion. The mental game is a huge part of success and Lisa recognizes that. Lisa's consistency is a direct correlation to her success. Congratulations Lisa and keep up the good work.

Kathy Steiner

Client of the Month August 2010

Fitness Together would like to proudly announce that Kathy Steiner is our August 2010 Client of the Month. Kathy has made great gains since starting here at FT. When she began here, there were only so many things that Kathy could physically do because of previous injuries. Within a few months she has cleaned up her diet, increased her flexibility, strength and endurance. Kathy is one of the most consistent members here. If she is unable to make an appointment, Kathy will make sure she reschedules to ensure she gets her workouts in for the week. Let’s not forget her competitive spirit. Kathy’s refuse to lose attitude is a huge asset. All anyone has to tell her is someone did more and you are sure to get more reps out of her. That’s exactly what we want. We want everyone here to push themselves to get the maximum gain or loss in their FT experience.

Congratulations to Lisa Dunn, Fitness Together’s Client of the Month.

When Lisa first started at FT some of her goals were to build muscle and shed fat; she is well on her way to successfully attaining both! Over the past months Lisa’s strength and endurance has drastically increased completing exercises with weights at least 15 pounds heavier then when she started her training program. Lisa’s success is due to her dedication, commitment to hard work, and never quit attitude. She pushes herself during each session to ensure she is reaching her maximum potential and always willing to take on the challenges of advanced exercises. Lisa also devotes herself to a cardio routine both inside and outside the gym. It is obvious her perseverance is paying off!

Fitness Together would like to proudly announce that Pat Remeck is our June 2010 Client of the Month. Since joining, Pat has made significant improvements in several areas. She has increased her bicep strength by 7 lbs and her flexibility by 2.5 inches. Her hard work and determination has made her an easy choice for this month’s winner. She consistently does pre and post cardio and ran her way into the winner’s circle, last month, which rewarded her several free training sessions for our last cardio contest. Pat’s “never quit” attitude allows her to complete every session no matter how tough it gets and that’s the kind of attitude we encourage in all our clients here at FT. Pat still wants to hit her goals and she will not let anything get in her way of that. It is a pleasure to train Pat and she is always up for any challenge, even when she thinks she’s not. The one thing that Pat knows is that there is no
reward without effort.

Congrats to Camille for becoming March 2010's Client of the Month here at Fitness Together! Camille has been with us since the beginning of February with a goal of loosing weight and getting healthy, and she is making amazing progress. Her positive attitude and commitment are part of it. She is consistent with her appointments and regularly does cardio and it shows!

Camille has lost 9 pounds, 4% body fat, has increased her muscle mass, increased her bicep strength by 14 pounds and has lost 24" overall! Camille rose to our March Training Challenge by making sure she had at least the 12 training sessions required for the month. Not only did she earn a reward of a free session, but also a fantastic fitness assessment. Camille always comes in ready to train and we love training her!

I learned of Fitness Together through my husband, a fitness guru himself. He works in Port Jefferson and became aware of what they offered their clients from one of his patients. I have been training consistently at FT for over five months. Without a doubt it is the best descision and best investment I have ever made.

As a cancer survivor, my health became my number one priority. It is because of my experience at FT that I have lost almost 60 lbs., and I am half way to my goal of 120 lbs!

I believe I have been this successful so far because at FT they hold you accountable to the exercise and lifestyle changes it requires to achieve your goals. In November of 2008 I had been a member of the same gym for ten years and at that point was rarely going for workouts on my own. I had lost my incentive. A postcard from Fitness Together arrived in the mail that month. I called to inquire about their program, went for a complimentary workout, and signed up immediately.

I wanted to lose a few pounds, but more importantly I wanted to get into better shape and use weight training to avoid osteoporosis. I lost those few pounds, lost body fat, and I'm looking forward to my next bone density scan. I won second place in the Fitness Together cardio contest last spring and was even named a client of the month recently!

Initially I thought that I would feel intimidated by working with a trainer privately, but that was not the case. The staff at Fitness Together is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. My trainer is very professional. I actually enjoy my workouts even though they are rigorous. On the occasions when I must reschedule workouts, the staff is extremely flexible.

If I had not joined Fitness Together, I know that I would have continued to waste my money paying for a gym membership that I did not use. I now train three times a week and feel better than ever. More than once this summer people have asked me if I go to a gym. No one asked me that before I joined Fitness Together.

"I came to Fitness Together in mid December. At that time I had been steadily dieting and doing cardio workouts for 3 months with good results. I had a lot of weight to still lose and I didn’t think that I could get there with out incorporating strength training into my routine. I knew nothing about training; therefore I debated about signing up because I thought that I would be intimidated by the gym environment.

From the moment I came in for my initial assessment, I was made to feel very comfortable. The owners were very encouraging and supportive of the job that I had already done. A misconception that many people have about working with a trainer is that they are going to work you so hard that you won’t want to come back. Nothing could be more further from the truth at Fitness Together. They start out slowly while they analyze the client’s strengths and weaknesses. The workouts get more challenging everytime and I look forward to it.

The trainers at Fitness Together make you feel at home the minute you come in. The ability to work the same muscle groups in varied ways keeps the experience very fresh. The amount of knowledge I have gained from from the trainers about nutrition and workout technique is invaluable. Fitness Together would like to proudly announce that Ken McCormack is our May 2010 Client of the Month. Ken’s hard work and commitment has really taken his workouts to the next level. Since Ken began, his strength has significantly improved, specifically showing a 13 lb gain in bicep strength. His cardiovascular endurance has improved, with showing a 4 point gain in his VO2 max. In order to reach your goals here at FT, cardio is an exercise that is absolutely necessary and no one understands that more than Ken. He begins every workout with at least 20 Minutes of cardio followed by an hour post workout. Thats the kind of dedication that we encourage in all members. Because of this, his blood pressure has dropped and he has lost a total of 6.5 inches.
A perfect example of Ken’s willingness to work hard and hit his goals is his request to be put through a boot camp workout at least once a week. The boot camp regimen is a high intensity, strength and conditioning workout that pushes your body to the max, all while burning an optimal amount of calories. We all look forward to Ken’s continued success and in pursuing his goals! Congratulations!!!

Pat has shown that she wants to be here and succeed since her first session at Fitness Together. I was impressed that she kept a fast pace throughout her workout and never looked back. Pat is always here early for her warm up and stays after for cardio. If a session is missed, she always makes it up. This hard working mentality and consistency is exactly what it takes to reach anyone’s goals. Pat’s blood pressure has significantly decreased from 147/85, 3 months ago, to 111/75. Now she doesn’t need to go on the blood pressure medication her doctor wanted her to start. Her strength and endurance have also made dramatic increases. What used to get her winded easily a few months ago, is not a problem now, and even more reps and weight is added to exercises because what once was tough is a now a breeze.
Pat is a pleasure to train because she is always willing to try something new and she is always getting better. You’re on the right track, Pat. Keep up the great work!
