I found Fitness Together to be an amazing program. Working with Laura Jones has been both a rewarding experience and delightful.

When I first found the program I weighed 151 pounds at 5.4”. I felt sluggish and tired, basically uncomfortable in my own skin. After our first physical assessment I learned that of that 151 pounds, 50 pounds of that was body fat and only 101 pounds were of lean muscle mass. I was shocked. I really did not think of myself as someone whom was overweight, but there it was in black and white. After our first workout, I knew I was out of shape. I really struggled but I knew I really wanted to make a change.

We started working out twice a week. Laura suggested a food program and additional cardio workouts. I followed her regimen and although challenging, I was feeling the rewards of my efforts with renewed energy.

Laura’s workouts varied each time. She recorded our workouts and seemed focused and methodical with her efforts to help me get in shape. The workouts I believe are the key to my success in the program. Showing up and working through the session gradually increased my strength and confidence. Showing up twice a week helped to keep me accountable with my food diaries and my cardio workouts. Laura's expectations for my success kept me encouraged and motivated.

Each retest Laura and I did showed consistent results. Each time I would lose fat weight and gain lean weight. I found this to be a very important part of my journey here at Fitness Together. Once I only believe the number on the scale and now I can see that it is not necessarily the number on the scale that reflects your health and progress but your level of fitness which is far more valuable.

My last retest put me at 105 lean muscle mass and only 30 pounds of fat weight. I weighed a trim 135 and I am a slim size 4. I have lost a total of 20 pounds of fat weight. I feel amazingly strong. I am running a 12 minute mile when before, I could not even run one minute. I feel as strong and as healthy as I did in my twenties.

It is a truly wonderful gift that I have given to myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to work out with Laura at Fitness Together.

When I started to exercise and eat healthy, 15 years ago, I did lose weight and I did look better but I was never able to trim myself in ways that I would have wished. I would try different machines and different cardio methods but the results were the same. I assumed that only surgery would correct these areas. I was content with my weight and diet so I continued until I started to put on weight again. I tried to get it off but nothing was happening. Finally, I got to the point that I would have to buy a full size or two bigger in clothing. I had vowed 15 years earlier that I would never do this. I needed help.

I knew I had to work with a trainer but I was taken back by the expense. I told myself that the expense would be my incentive. I came to Fitness Together, with Matt and Laura, in November of 2007. I could not be more pleased with my results. My first retest showed that I had lost 2 inches all over but not a pound. I would have been happy with that but this continued in ways I never thought could happen. I began to drop weight weekly but I had muscle and tone that I had never seen before. The areas of my body I assumed would need surgery were firming. I have to think back on my feelings of the expense and compare that to the expense of surgery. More importantly, the expense of not feeling as healthy and fit as I do now.

Fitness Together and Matt (my trainer) have given me a new outlook on my health and fitness that I will always keep with me. I will continue to train with them. I have found Fitness Together to be one of the best bargains for my life.

Fitness Together Client & College Football Official

In late February of this year, I made a decision to seek out a personal training program to help me reach some specific fitness goals.  Aside from my regular day job, I am a Division I college football official. This year our conference mandated that by the time we met for our annual clinic in July, all officials were to meet the same minimum fitness standards used by the NFL for their officials (Body fat <28%, BMI <30, waist <40).  My goal was to meet those minimum fitness standards.  I have always been involved in athletics, but as I grew older (44 years) the motivation for maintaining a fitness regimen diminished.

 I chose Fitness Together, because I was impressed with the studio and felt comfortable with the trainers, especially Reshma Siddik.  Based on my specific goals, Reshma tailored my training program and nutritional plan to help me pass my physical assessment in July (lower body fat, waist and BMI), as well as improving my agility and core strength.  Together, we embarked on a journey that has produced better than expected results.  I began this journey weighing 266 pounds with a BMI of 33.2, body fat at 29.9% and waist of 45 inches.

Since “teaming” up with Reshma at Fitness Together, I genuinely look forward to our 3x/week sessions.  The program Reshma developed combined a challenging core workout, cardio, and strength training that challenged and motivated me to achieve my goals.  Her encouragement and the support of the Fitness Together staff have been remarkable.  As the weeks of training passed, I could see the results.  At each subsequent retest, I was closer to my goals.  At my conference clinic in July, I weighed in at 226 lbs.  My body fat is 17.7%, my BMI is 27.5, and my waist is now 37 inches (not to mention the increase in lean muscle, stamina and core strength).  At the clinic, the Supervisor of Officials (my boss) was very happy with my appearance and congratulated me on my efforts.  That felt great! I was more than thrilled, and unexpectedly, so was Reshma!  This is what has impressed me so much about Fitness Together; the genuine support and encouragement offered by Reshma and all the trainers on staff.  Now that I have met the goals I set for myself in February, we are on to a new set of goals.  I am confident we will meet these new goals for my Fitness Together.

In late May I began my relationship with Reshma Siddick and Fitness Together and I plan to continue as my results have been amazing. Overall my latest fitness test indicated improvement of 156%, going from scores that were just average to now well above average.  My overall measurements have dropped almost 9 inches. I have always exercised, but now I make the most of that workout time. Reshma’s knowledge of how to work every muscle group and keep it fun and productive is nothing short of exceptional! 

I am a full time middle school teacher who needs to be fit and energized every day of every week and Fitness Together has enabled me to be just that. I truly look forward to my Monday and Wednesday evening workouts. Even after a difficult day I return home after my sessions truly invigorated.

 Now six months later and two clothing sizes smaller I intend to sign up for another series of sessions with my sole goal being to maintain the level of fitness that I’ve been able to reach thanks to the wonderful team at Fitness Together.

It took 20 years to gain the weight but only a few months with Fitness Together to take it off. I am thinner and healthier, plus I’ve gained tremendous strength and flexibility. 

As a busy working mom I constantly struggled with my weight. I tried every diet and training video but never got the results I wanted. I even tried other gyms without success.

Additionally, Fitness Together provides a recommended diet and daily food log to help you keep track of what you eat.  You have a personal trainer and private studio time so nothing detracts from your workout.  And finally, I never need to worry about injury. Reshma is constantly monitoring my routine to protect against pulls and strains.

 Making the decision to work with Fitness Together has changed my life. I’m a new person with plenty of energy to keep up with my kids and my busy life.
