After struggling with my weight for a while I finally decided enough was enough.

Fitness Together’s philosophy of One Client One trainer One Goal was my perfect solution. I love the private studios, no crowds no waiting around for equipment. The focus and attention is on me and my goals.

I have been very committed to working hard and staying focused. Its been tough, but it has also been worth the time and effort.

In the last six months I am pleased to say that I have lost a total of 32lbs and 22inches.

This is the first time any program has worked effectively for me. I now feel so much healthier and stronger.

Dear Boo,

Words alone can not express the satisfaction that I experienced from progress of the physical training that I received from your studio. Since I started with you, I have lost 25 pounds of body fat, have reduced two belt sizes and have developed muscle tone that I've never had before. I no longer get winded from climbing a single flight of stairs and have much more energy on a regular basis. My blood pressure is almost perfect and my cholesterol levels have improved dramatically. My doctor told me during my last physical that "he wished all of his patients were this healthy."

I am in the best shape that I have been in since high school 34 years ago! I even had to replace most of my wardrobe. Last but not least, my improved physical condition has made it easier for me to manage the daily challenges that life throws at us.

Most importantly, however, are the lifestyle changes that I have developed from the guidance of your trainer, Ken Jung, during my training. Ken has been instrumental in educating me about better eating habits, vitamin and mineral supplements and overall physical conditioning. He has even given me some awesome, healthy recipes. Because of his genuine interest in my progress and continued encouragement, I will use this new information to maintain a much healthier lifestyle for the rest of my life.

There is a Chinese proverb that says "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you can fee him for a lifetime". Ken has taught me how to fish. I can't thank him enough.

I have always been identified as a big girl, ever since 1st grade. Others saw me this way, I saw myself this way, and I definitely endured a bit of name-calling. As the years went by, I dug a deeper hole for myself. Nobody was standing in my way warning me of health risks, of confidence issues, or of breathing problems.

I attempted to be ignorant toward my obesity because I had friends and family who never bothered me about it, but I hated my body. I hated not being able to shop in the same stores as my friends and I hated not being able to get around like a normal person my age. I started going to Weight Watchers when I was in 6th grade. Though I stayed consistent with this program for a little while, and I lost 20 pounds, I quickly gained it back when I lost my momentum. I then went to a nutritionist and personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness. I stuck to it for a while, but I soon lost interest in my one-hour personal training sessions because my trainer would literally put me on a treadmill for half an hour and go do his own thing. I once again lost momentum with this program with lack of support.

Since then, I purchased crash diet books, I went to LA Weight Loss (whom filed bankruptcy in the middle of my paid sessions), I tried to lose weight on my own, but I could not commit to any program. Obesity was a problem in my immediate family as well, so it was hard to encourage them to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle for their own benefit as well as mine. It seemed there was no support system, and losing weight became something that would be impossible to do on my own, but I was definitely ready to change. I found Fitness Together in the phone book and I scheduled an appointment knowing absolutely nothing about the center. Working with Charles since February 2008 has been incredible. My heaviest weight was 250 pounds. My starting weight at Fitness Together was 221 pounds, and I am now 195 pounds. I used to be an 18/20 dress size, and I am now a 12/14. Six months has made the biggest change I have ever experienced. Finally, I have stayed consistent with one easy, healthy way of achieving my weight loss goals. With the support of Charles and everybody at Fitness Together, I now am enjoying my life without the self-consciousness, I am buying clothes at the same stores at the mall with my friends, my endurance has increased dramatically, and I am happier and more confident with my body. My weight loss continues at Michigan State University where I am studying to be a nurse. I cannot even begin to express my thanks toward Charles and everyone at Fitness Together for making such a big difference in my life. I feel incredible and I work toward maintaining my healthy lifestyle so that I feel better, on the inside and out, every day.

Steve lost 39lbs!

After a numbers of years of neglecting my health through poor eating habits and no exercise. I had gained a significant amount of weight.

I did not look good; I was feeling awful and constantly tired. This was not a good position to be in for someone of my age. I was a candidate for high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. It was finally time to do something about this.

I decided to start my journey at Fitness Together.

Working in a fully equipped private studio with a qualified fitness professional was perfect. The focus and attention was on me and my goals. I followed the program, which included a proper nutrition plan, cardio program and of course my work out plan. Within 6 months I had lost 39lbs and gone down 4 pant sizes. I feel great, and so much stronger and healthier.

The personal trainers at Fitness Together were fully committed to helping me reach my goals. I'm now in the best shape of my life!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you, and especially Don, for all of the help I have received with my weight loss goals. When I joined Fitness Together, I expected to drop a few ponds, but didn’t have real high expectations. However, after just 10 weeks I have lost 27 pounds and have gone from a very tight 40” waist to a very comfortable 36” waist.

I just wanted to send along to you a note of thanks for the letter I received a year ago from you, regarding your program. While I didn't act on it immediately, I held on to it & contacted you 6 months ago to find out more about your program. June 14, 2005, was a major milestone in my life as I joined Fitness Together. I was assigned to Don & Ben, two of your fine trainers who got me started on my weight loss & fitness journey.

Today, I am 30 pounds lighter & have never been this fit in my life at the age of 55! I dropped from size 12 to size 6 in 4.5 months. I credit the motivation of Ben & Don, who kept me focused on challenging my fitness level and the skill sets of your excellent staff. I could not have achieved these results without their commitment to me and that has certainly been the cornerstone of my success!

Thanks to Fitness Together’s Program and especially to Ben for being such a gifted & fantastic personal trainer. I highly recommend this program to anyone serious about making lifestyle & fitness changes.....it sure has changed my life for the better!

When I first approached Fitness Together, I avoided making the decision about joining for several months, telling myself that I could surely figure out a way to work out and get in shape on my own. Well, after that “several months” it wasn’t happening on my own. So, with my husband’s encouragement I signed up for 40 sessions.

I’ve always been reasonably active as an adult, even running in a ½ marathon two years ago. But over the past two years, my level of fitness had steadily declined, my clothes were fitting tighter than ever and I just did not like the way I felt, looked, or moved. My knees bothered me, my back bothered me…nothing terrible but just not the way I was used to feeling. And I certainly didn’t like the way I was feeling.

My goals were pretty simple: feel better; get back into a more active workout routine; eat better. I knew if I did all of that I would likely lose some weight and everything would fit better.

So, here I am 40 sessions later and it has all worked. With Lisa’s encouragement, creativity, and support I have met all of those initial goals. I’ve gotten back into a routine of regular work outs, I was able to run throughout the summer without sore knees and/or back, my clothes all fit better because I have lost weight and toned up everything!! I can actually see muscle definition!!

Lisa has always had endless amounts of energy and enthusiasm for the workouts…even at 6:00 a.m. when I’m barely awake! It’s been a great experience and I would recommend Fitness Together to anyone interested. It’s been so positive for me that I’ve signed up for more sessions so that I can keep on going. Holidays and the winter blahs are not going to get me back into bad habits this year!!

I've struggled with being overweight since my early teens. After endless up and down, exhausting battles with "quick fix", "extreme" and unhealthy diets, I decided this was it. This year I did it right and got the physicality and body back that I desired for so long.

My beginning goals were to look and feel better, relieve stress and to actually stick with my plan.

Before I started, I felt eager. I was just so ready to do something about this terrible issue I've constantly had in my head. I was a bit worried about not seeing results or screwing this process up. But, I also felt generally excited and ready to work.

I have never stuck with a fitness program for this long until coming to Fitness Together. I've gained so much knowledge and training that I'll take it with me forever. It was so impossible to give up with Terry and Angela working with me every week. I feel so much more connected with my body and although I still have a way to go to that dream body, I refuse to settle or back down. I'm not focusing on disappointments, I am constantly moving forward, refining and drawing on inspiration.

I have to tell you flat out, I have never felt healthier. My goals I achieved over the past 6 weeks include feeling stronger and almost proud of this body - not really because of how it looks right off the bat (yet). But, because of how much I work it now. I feel like me and my body is now a team. Where as before, I was mostly ashamed of it and hated it.

We would like to congratulate Elaine on her amazing achievements. Elaine completed a 270 mile charity bike ride race from Boston to White Plains, New York in three days.

During her training for this race Elaine lost 5lbs lowered her body fat, got stronger, and improved her endurance. She also raised over 20 thousand dollars for ALSTDI, a charity for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Dear Boo, Charles and Rob,

For the last 3 years I kept saying, “I’ll get in shape and give myself a year. That should be plenty of time.” I felt like a broken record. When I chose the “I Want my body back” program I never dreamed it would really happen. I hoped it would but…

Thank you so much for giving me my body back! But more importantly, I am getting my health back.
My doctor is thrilled with my progress and the road to heart attacks and diabetes has been destroyed (well, with my family’s dismal history of heart disease and diabetes, let me tell you, I couldn’t be happier.)

Boo, from the first meeting with you I felt like, “Wow, this is a place that will really hold my feet to the fire.” You helped me identify the circumstances and the habits that were in my way and without the structure that Fitness Together provides I wouldn’t be as far as I am now.

When I first started I wrote down my 8 week goal to lose at least 8 lbs (1 lb a week seemed great). Well I lost 17 lbs!!! And 12 inches!!! And 2 sizes!!! My resting pulse went from 85 down to 74 and my recovery heart rate went from 120 to 100.

With the amazing training and support of Charles and Rob – their good humor and knowing I could do more than I ever thought I could – I’m on my way to REAL health.
I’m even tucking in my shirts, wearing belts and have given away almost ¾ of the clothes in my closet. I can even fit into my daughter’s jeans and she’s in great shape! I’m never going back again!

I did what you guys said to do – make your appointments, work hard, do your cardio and write down EVERYTHING you eat. I’m on my second Accountability Log and can’t believe how much I’ve learned about my eating behaviors. I eat (pretty much) anything I want (as long as I always count the calories) and now I can even eat one piece of candy and be satisfied.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. With a couple more months left on my program I know I will never go back to not being able to bend over to tie my shoes.
