Mark & Marti Carrier

Owners / Trainers / Operators / Fitness Coaches

Hello we are Mark and Marti Carrier. We are the proud owners of Fitness Together located in Norfolk VA in the beautiful Palace Station off 22nd street (Historic Ghent). Marti holds a personal training certificate through A.C.E. and Mark through F. T. the world's largest one on one Personal Training institution. Marti’s goal for every Fitness Together client is a strong fit physique. I began working out after the birth of my first child. As I’ve grown older I’ve come to realize the importance of not only being cardiovascularly fit, but also using weight resistance to keep from losing muscle tone. Flexibility and balance are also key components for keeping our bodies fit and strong. Encouraging my clients to be their very best is what I’m all about, and I love to see the progress as personal fitness goals are achieved. When you come to Fitness Together you’ll receive the very best care and guidance to get you to where you want to be! Mark said “Life without being fit is boring”. My passion is to see people improve their personal level of health and fitness. I like to take our clients to a level of intensity they need and beyond. When I see our clients lose weight, lower their blood pressure, reduce their high cholesterol, tighten and tone their bodies, increase their core strength, improve their balance, reduce their stress level, and learn about good nutritional habits, I get excited! Marieta Sugu

Fitness Coach / Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Marieta Sugu and I am originally from Romania. I came to the USA four years ago through a Cultural Exchange Program. Ever since my teen years, I have been interested in exercising and maintaining a healthy spirit. As a consequence, I studied and pursued a degree in Physical Therapy. For almost two years, I worked as a Personal Trainer and Physical Therapist. During this time my goal was to contribute to helping my clients achieve their goals and expectations regarding good health. I’ve been certified as a Personal Trainer in the USA as well with Aerobic and Fitness Association of America. I would like to use my knowledge and experience to design the best fitness program to meet the needs of our clients in order to achieve maximum results. In my opinion a good workout is the most important ingredient of good health. My goal is to help our clients take all the steps needed to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Daniel Vazquez

Fitness Coach / Certified Personal Trainer

Hello, my name is Daniel Vazquez. I am a graduate from Old Dominion University with a degree in Exercise Science and a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I worked at the YMCA for two years, volunteered with ODU Strength and Conditioning for a year, and interned at Florida Atlantic University Strength and Conditioning for half a year. Exercise has always been a huge part of my life starting with my many years of soccer. As I grew older, I got involved with running track and weightlifting. It was when I broke my arm during a soccer game and went through the process of recovering, that I truly learned to appreciate my health and fitness. This led me to my passion for maintaining physical strength and helping others achieve it. There is no better feeling then watching someone progress both physically and mentally as they conquer their goals. Together we can work hard to reach your full potential and make life-changing progress. With the combined power of proper resistance training, cardiovascular health, and nutrition, anything is possible. Here at Fitness Together we will work 1-on-1 to make sure you get on the right track towards reaching your fitness goals.  I look forward to working with and helping you take the steps to the new and healthier you.

BRANDON WILLIAMS

Fitness Coach / Certified Personal Trainer

My name is Brandon, and I am a firefighter Emt-Enhanced for Norfolk Fire Rescue.  I was born and raised in the Chesapeake-Great Bridge area, and played football, wrestled, and ran track during high school.  I will be competing in a body building competition this year, of which I am very excited.  I am currently FT certified with plans to continue my education by obtaining an ACSM certification.   Helping people meet their and fitness goals with resistance training and nutritional guidance is a passion of mine.  My goal is to help my clients get into the best shape of their lives by customizing a plan that starts at their current level of fitness and grows to optimal health.  I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work with you at Fitness Together.

Rachel Walker

Fitness Coach / Certified Persoanl Trainer

Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a certified Health Fitness Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine. In addition to working at fitness together, I also coach ice skating lessons in Virginia Beach. I graduated in 2011 from Old Dominion University with a master’s degree in Exercise Science. At ODU, I worked in the wellness institute with cardiac rehab clients and older adults. This experience has helped me to understand the specific obstacles for older populations and those with chronic disease.  I also have a bachelor’s degree in education from Penn State University. When I graduated in 2008 from Penn State, I was not in good shape and I knew it. I decided to do something about it and started studying fitness and nutrition on my own. That decision made a huge difference in my health and energy level and motivated me to study exercise for a graduate degree.  I am excited to help other people get into the best shape of their lives and discover their full potential. One-on-one personal training is one of the best ways to achieve the goals you have for yourself and your own personal health and wellbeing.

Matt Ingalls

Certified Fitness Coach / Personal Trainer

Hey! My names Matt Ingalls. I love exercise and helping people reach their health and fitness goals. I am certified through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). I played baseball as a kid as well as through high school. When I graduated from Granby High, fitness wasn’t a priority. I gained a lot of weight and wasn’t happy with myself. I felt weak and my confidence level was low.  I decided to start exercising and learning about nutrition. I began losing weight, liked the way I felt, and my energy level was back. This sparked my interest in fitness! I was hooked!

Personally I really enjoy discovering new workouts and exercises. I like to keep it fun and exciting. I truly believe everyone should set a goal and continue working towards your goal until you achieve it, whether it’s a short term goal or long team goal, we must have something you are working towards.

 At Fitness Together I will customize an exercise program that works for you. I will support you, motivate you, coach you, hold you accountable, and make exercise fun. Your health and fitness goals will be my priority. I’ll look forward to working with you. Thank you.

Kelsey Rotunno

Certified Fitness Coach / Personal Trainer

My name is Kelsey Rotunno, I was born and raised near Philadelphia, PA. I recently moved to Virginia in July 2011 where I was fortunate enough to find Fitness Together Norfolk.

I have always recognized that exercise and good eating habits were the key to overall health and happiness. I am constantly exploring different and exciting ways to get exercise into my daily routine.

I attend pilates, yoga and aerial silks fitness classes while maintaining a regular resistance training schedule. Helping others achieve their health and fitness goals is important to me and it's what keeps me going. I received my personal training certification in Charleston, SC, through World Instructor Training Schools. The program was taught by Biggest Loser personal trainer Amanda Roush, she's one of many that inspire me to further my education so that I can help others through every aspect of health.

I have also received my pilates mat certification through Power Pilates. Currently I am working towards becoming a health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Being healthy is a way of life, one that everyone has the opportunity to lead.

Donnie Howlett

Hey, my name is Donnie Howlett. I am currently enrolled at Old Dominion University and I am an aspiring special operations candidate in the United States Navy. During my free time I enjoy surfing, swimming, hunting, and creating graphic designs. I am certified through W.I.T.S.(World Instructor's Training School) and I am also CPR/AED certified. All my life I have been involved in sports including wrestling, football, and lacrosse, where working out soon became an everyday ritual. To this day, fitness is one of my top priorities. With the knowledge I have obtained about fitness and health I will be there for you to achieve your goals while having an enjoyable 1-on-1 session at Fitness Together Norfolk.

Elisabeth Robey

Hi my name is Lizzie Robey. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration and four years experience in collegiate athletics. Needless to say, fitness has always been an important part of my life. I am certified through A.C.E. and Fitness Together. As a varsity athlete in both high school and in college, I know how important physical fitness is to maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle. It is not always easy to fit exercise into a busy schedule but at Fitness Together we do all we can to be available to every client during a time most suitable for them. Exercise combined with a proper diet can make all the difference when it comes to feeling healthy and living right. At Fitness together we are well equipped to help you with both. If you have a goal in mind, Fitness Together will create a personalized program for you and guide you to help you reach that goal.
