Scott Batchelar

Owner
Certified Personal Trainer
Certified Golf Fitness Instructor

I have spent the majority of my professional career in the business world while always maintaining a passion for sports and fitness in my personal life. I finally decided to meld the two together by purchasing a Fitness Together personal training studio. I have always been an athlete, playing hockey most of my life including while in college and I continue to play football and golf today. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through NESTA and a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute. I administer the Golf Fitness Training program at our facility. This program combines the latest science and research from the Titleist Performance Institute with the cutting edge technology of the K-Vest 3D motion system. Please give us a call or stop by the studio. We look forward to serving you as a future client of Fitness Together Melrose!

Ryan Kilian

Studio Manager
Certified Personal Trainer

Sports and fitness have always been passions in my life. I have over 12 years of experience working in the fields of health & wellness and sports, both in Massachusetts and in California.  

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist with the National Federation of Professional Trainers and also hold certifications from the YMCA and CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Children’s Health). I am a licensed Physical Education teacher in the state of Massachusetts and have my Masters Degree in Kinesiology from California State University Long Beach and my BA from the University of New Hampshire.  I am also an avid sports enthusiast and sports writer as well as a high school basketball coach. In my spare time I enjoy playing basketball, tennis, racquetball, football and lacrosse. 

I enjoy working with a wide range of populations and believe in a combined approach to health and wellness that brings cardiovascular, strength training and nutrition together to help you achieve your goals.  I look forward to working with you as a client of Fitness Together Melrose!

Bethany Larossa

Certified Personal Trainer

My education and experience include a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire's Athletic Training program as well as national certifications in Athletic Training [ATC], Personal Training [ACSM] and group exercise instruction [AFAA]. I have had the opportunity to work as a Certified Athletic Trainer in both a high school setting and also for a Broadway show/Dance Company touring Japan. These two extremely different work environments helped me to develop my skills working with a diverse group of people and body types. I have also enjoyed teaching a variety of group exercise classes which include cardio kickboxing, yoga, strength and hip hop! I found teaching group exercise to be extremely rewarding and wanted to continue to help people reach their fitness goals in a more personal and focused setting, bringing me to Fitness Together! Making exercise and proper nutrition a priority will bring with it endless opportunity. I look forward to helping you reach your health and fitness goals!!! Scott McAlarney

Certified Personal Trainer

Scott is certified as a Personal Trainer through the nationally accredited International Sports Science Association. He has worked as a trainer for over four years in a variety of settings and believes in focusing training on effective, functional exercise with customized workouts and stretches for each client’s individual needs. Nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices play a big part in his personal training programs and in his own recreational interests and studies.

Scott’s knowledge of exercise and nutrition began with his own interest in the field and has been further increased through personal study and attending both UMass Amherst and Salem State, with his focus in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, and Fitness and Wellness.

Scott’s athletic background is largely focused in aquatics and swimming, competing on the Melrose Varsity Swim Team through high school while instructing swim lessons and lifeguarding at the Melrose YMCA. He continued on to coach both the youth and masters swim teams during college while continuing to pursue his career as a personal trainer. Scott has worked with a wide array of clients with goals reaching from muscle building, to fat loss, to injury recovery and cardiac rehabilitation and more. Whatever your goals may be, Scott will strive to give you a customized routine that will keep you motivated, get you the results you want, and have fun doing it!
