frequently asked questions
How many times per week would I come in?
If you're a new exerciser specifically, we always recommend starting with at least 4 sessions per week to help get the body used to exercise and firing sedentary muscles. After the first few weeks (or if you're already an active person), we can work 3 times per week and still be right on track to helping you reach your goals. We don't recommend any less than this when results are the goal. Sure, we work with folks who have work and travel demands and we see them twice a week when they're able to come in. When they are out of town, we help hold them accountable by designing an on-the-road program that will help the stay on track while they're gone. Any less than two times per week is a waste of money if this all the activity you plan on doing and results are your goal.
Q: How long are your personal training sessions?
A: Each session is 45 minutes but we encourage our personal training clients to come in a few minutes before their session to warm up on our cardio equipment. After your session we suggest cooling down a minimum of 5 minutes or for maximum fat burning you can add in 15-20 min of cardio after your session. So, plan on spending anywhere 45-80 minutes at each personal training session.
Q: How long until I see results?
A: We assess our clients every 6-8 weeks. This is enough time to show statistically significant results for most people. Our clients who have followed our complete weekly plan and journaled their healthy nutrition plans have consistently seen results, including remarkable improvements in strength and endurance during this period. Like most things in life, the more YOU put into it, the more YOU will get out of it.
Q: How many times a week does the typical client work out?
A: This depends primarily on your fitness goals. Typically our personal training clients prefer to come in 3 days a week for better results. Training less often tends to slow down progress. Of course, clients that wish to achieve rapid results can come in more often to really accelerate their fat loss and/or muscle growth.
What exactly do you do at Fitness Together?
Well, we are a private, one-on-one training studio where clients come in 3 times per week, by appointment only, and work in one of our two private suites. Each client has a customized program designed by their trainer that meets their physical needs and overall health and fitness goals. Every 4 to 6 weeks we assess where we are in relation to the client's original goals and, if need be, we modify their program to keep them on track.
What type of training is it?
We do a comprehensive training program that incorporates movement prep exercises that get the joints loosened up and ready for exercise, strength exercises designed for muscle development and increased metabolism, functional exercises that use several muscles at once to increase daily functioning, core movements that create a strong base to protect the back and also aid in balance and stability, and flexibility training that promotes quicker recovery and decreased injury risk.
