Cardiovascular Exercise

The staff at Fitness Together understands the importance of regular cardiovascular exercise or "cardio", and subsequently cardio is a key element to ensuring that our personal training clients reach their goals.

Most people understand that cardio burns calories, which is essential for decreasing body fat (weight loss as most people call it), but there are numerous other benefits* such as:

  • It's one way to burn calories and help you lose weight
  • It makes your heart strong so that it doesn't have to work as hard
  • It increases your lung capacity
  • It helps reduce risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure
  • It helps reduce risk of diabetes
  • It makes you feel good
  • It helps you sleep better
  • It helps reduce stress

At Fitness Together our approach, although based on detailed analysis, is fairly simple - the Fitness Together staff prescribes a cardio regimen for each client.  Although the individual prescription will vary from client to client, one thing remains constant: ACCOUNTABILITY.

We realize that consistency is an extremely important component of any successful fitness program, therefore adherence to "the gameplan" is discussed during each session.  Individual prescriptions are modified and updated on a regular basis, to keep the cardio fitness sessions challenging, fun, and most importantly effective.

Another important role of "cardio" is in goal setting.  We encourage all clients to set goals that get and keep them involved in healthy activities. It doesn't matter whether you walk a 5K, or win a marathon, the important thing is that you challenge yourself and experience the joy that comes with meeting and exceeding your goals.
