As a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and former Army officer, Rick understands the value of teamwork, commitment, and perseverance in delivering results. Years of experience in private industry have also provided Rick a deep understanding of the service quality necessary to build customer loyalty. Rick brings these lessons together at Fitness Together in order to create a successful environment for anyone serious about living a healthy and active lifestyle. Nick began his career in the fitness industry in Summer 2009 when, while studying for his Master of Environmental Science degree, he earned certifications both as a personal fitness coach and group kickboxing instructor at Lund University’s Gerdahallen, Sweden’s largest and most cutting edge fitness facility.
Upon completing his Master’s studies, and having worked at Gerdahallen for two years, he moved back to his native Virginia in August 2011. Having divided the previous two years of his life between the library and the gym, he decided his true passion lay in the latter, and so his search for employment led him to Fitness Together Bethesda.
Having grown up extremely overweight, beginning his college career in Boston at well over three hundred pounds, Nick finally decided to make a lifestyle change his freshman year of 2003 (losing over one hundred and twenty pounds in the process), and has never looked back. These personal challenges and successes later translated into a desire to help others achieve their own health, fitness and lifestyle goals. As such he has remained committed to giving one hundred percent to his clients, and expecting the same in return.
In addition, Nick is continually looking to expand his knowledge base, and since moving back Stateside has earned certificates as both a Kettlebell Athletics Coach, and Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, in order to provide an increasingly challenging, diverse, motivating, and effective level of service.
Megan got her start in the fitness industry at Penn State University where she received her Bachelors in Kinesiology and worked as a Fitness Trainer in the university fitness facilities. After college, Megan provided a year of service to an AmeriCorps program called City Year in Boston, MA. Upon the programs completion, Megan reignited her health & fitness career as a personal trainer and wellness coach, working with a variety of populations in both corporate and private settings.
Additionally, Megan has earned Personal Training certification from both American College of Sports Medicine and American College on Exercise, and as a certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, Megan finds great passion in helping cancer patients and survivors. She was also a student at the Mt Nittany Institute of Natural Health where she graduated as a Holistic Health Practitioner, and she has recently become a Global College of Natural Medicine certified Nutritional Consultant.

Pam is a certified personal trainer and sports performance coach. Pam received her B.A in Health Promotion with a concentration in exercise science at American University. She also has her master's in sports management. Pam's passion for fitness began as a Division I student-athlete at American University where she played basketball. She developed a great relationship with her strength coach, where she began to learn about the in's and out's of strenght training. After a knee injury that required surgery and rehab, she realized that fitness was the career for her. She has played a wide- range of sports throughout her entire life, and enjoys staying active. She enjoys playing flag football and basketball on her off time. Pam has had the opportunity to intern/work at the White House Athletic Center and also with Athletes' Performance, one of the top sports training facilities. Pam also coaches high school and middle school basketball in the local area. She tries everyday to bring alot of energy and fun into helping others reach their fitness goals.

Being a mother of two young boys, Henry, 4 and George, 3, Patty understands how difficult it can be to make time in a busy schedule for exercise and to continue eating a healthy diet. Patty’s ability to empathize with her clients is her greatest strength as a trainer. Understanding that not everybody likes to exercise and everyone has different goals, needs, abilities, likes and dislikes, Patty creates individualized programs which meet each client’s unique personality, goals and abilities to keep clients motivated and to help them reach their ultimate goals. Patty has worked with diverse groups of clients from age 14 to 82. She has worked with high school and collegiate athletes, active duty military members, pre-operative and post-operative clients, pre- and post-natal clients, fitness enthusiasts and those not so enthusiastic about fitness. Patty’s favorite part about being a trainer is when a client, no matter what their fitness background or fitness goal is, accomplishes something they never thought they would be able to, whether it’s performing a push-up or pull-up goal, running a 10k, fitting into an old pair of jeans or being able to accomplish daily tasks without taking a break.
In 2000, Patty earned her Personal Training certification though the American Council on Exercise and began training clients in their homes while attending the University of North Carolina Charlotte. In 2005, Patty graduated from UNCC earning her Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness. She also earned her Health Fitness Instructor certification through the American College of Sports Medicine in 2005. Because of her desire to be the best trainer she can be for her clients, Patty is continually learning and improving her skills through continuing education opportunities. Patty is currently working on earning her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
My name is Adam Durham and I am currently an elite U.S track athlete. Competing in an Olympic sport is unlike any other in that I have the opportunity to represent myself and my country on the world stage. I am a graduate from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology.
Some of my academic achievements include: University of Maryland Honor Roll, Scholar Student Athlete, Who’s Who Recipient, 2007 US Paralympics Volunteer, Paul Robeson Versatility Award Winner and Student Athlete Advisory Committee Vice President. In addition, I am also heavily involved with community outreach volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America and Terp Reads. I have also organized the annual canned food drive at Maryland Madness on the campus of University of Maryland in addition to being speaker to at risk youth with the Avenue Program.
Lisa received her personal training certifications from National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) and American Council on Exercise (ACE). She applied her knowledge of fitness training and nutrition, and her BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, to start a fitness business in 2010.
Lisa's goal is to help her clients discover what motivates them in their quest for fitness while guiding them safely through exercises that are fun, progressive, and educational.
Lisa has always lived an active lifestyle. Among her fitness passions are weight training, hiking, walking, jogging, and downhill skiing. Lisa has an interest in nutrition and loves to cook creative and healthy meals.
To Lisa, fitness isn't limited to the workout; it's a way of life.
Jaclyn received her personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a B.A. in Communications from Indiana University. Her passion is working with clients on establishing a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Jaclyn is committed to helping clients find motivation to maintain an active life even with the crazy and busy schedules of most individuals. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Jaclyn loves finding outdoor fitness activities for all seasons, even the cold winter months! Her favorite outdoor activities include running, hiking, and sailing. Jaclyn is excited to be part of the Fitness Together team!
Ian is excited to be back at Fitness Together. He first worked at Fitness Together Bethesda in 2007 after graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Health Sciences. While at Clemson he raced both road and mountain bikes. Since training at FT Bethesda, Ian traveled around the US, Chile and New Zealand working as a teacher at a private boarding school for whitewater kayakers. Ian also spent time in South Carolina working at another Fitness Together studio.
Ian's philosophy is that hard work in the gym pays off outside the gym whether to feel more energetic during the day, hike a little further or stay injury free.
When not at Fitness Together you can find Ian on the Potomac River paddling or teaching whitewater kayaking during the summer.
