Paula Elbert
Manager
Paula has been working with Fitness Together since 2005. She earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State College. Paula started in the health and fitness industry in a Physical Therapy setting. She was responsible for helping clients with injuries or surgeries carry out the appropriate exercises given by the Physical Therapists. After gaining experience working with clients who have had everything from hip and knee replacements to shoulder injuries, Paula decided to pursue personal training. It was a good fit and she has been training now for the past 5 years. Being active is a very important part of Paula’s life. She enjoys activities such as running, skiing, rock climbing and hiking. Not only does she enjoy keeping herself active but loves to help improve the activity level of other people as well. Whether it’s teaching a kickboxing class, a boot camp class or working one-on-one with clients here at Fitness Together, Paula does it all and has enjoyed every minute of it ….( well maybe not every minute of it but close). She loves working with people and wouldn’t have it any other way. “Getting to show someone they can do something they didn’t think possible and something they could not do 3 months ago is priceless. The human body is an amazing instrument and people need to treat it that way. Be good to it and it will return the favor many years to come.”

Joe Cronin
Assistant Manager
Joe Cronin is a 2004 Graduate of Nichols College where he received a degree in Sports Management. After working in various fields within Sports Management he decided to pursue personal training. He got his start at Superfitness in Quincy and later joined the Fitness Together team in Belmont. A trainer with over 5 years of experience he has been with us since November 2006. A lifelong athlete Joe has a passion for fitness and a healthy living lifestyle. He believes that workouts should be fun but challenging and does his best to keep the mood light. He takes pride in giving our clients the best workout possible. In addition to helping clients achieve weight loss goals, Joe has also worked with athletes, children and the elderly. “I believe that the only person standing in the way of your goals is yourself. Once you believe in yourself, nothing can stop you. Nothing great has ever been achieved without sacrifice and determination. I look forward to helping my clients to go beyond what they think is possible.”

Brian Knowles
Personal Trainer
Brian graduated in the winter of 2008 from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in business administration with a major in accounting. It did not take long for him to realize that his heart was not in it, so he did not pursue accounting. Instead he worked as a subcontractor in the Bar Harbor area while he figured out what he wanted to do with his life. After he completed a home fitness program and lost 30 pounds, it dawned on him that the fitness industry was for him. Shortly after deciding that a career in the fitness world was the way to go, he moved to Waltham and started at the National Personal Training Institute. After a short stint as a personal trainer at Work Out World in Brockton, Brian was able to show his worth as a trainer and was hired at Fitness Together.
Brian has been involved in sports his entire life, from school teams to intramurals in college. He has experienced the benefits of physical activities and team work which has helped to shape his character. He enjoys playing all sports but his favorite is basketball. With a father who is a chiropractor and a mother who is a nurse, personal training seemed to be a natural fit.
“Healthy living is a lifestyle made up of 2 things: Diet and Exercise. The trick is to find healthy foods that work and an exercise routine that is fun.”

Paul Kostopoulous
Trainer
Paul graduated from Mass Bay Community College in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts. After working in many different fields, Paul decided that he wanted to become a personal trainer. He went back to school at the National Personal Trainer Institute in Waltham and upon graduating in June 2011, he joined the FT Belmont team.
Paul is 28 years old and from West Roxbury. He has always been very athletic and enjoys playing sports such as hockey, basketball, baseball, and boxing. His own fitness has always been very important to him and he loves being able to help other people with theirs.

Amy Salant
Amy graduated from Mount Ida College in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. After being unable to find work in her intended field, Amy ended up in finance, bouncing between various jobs for six years.
Amy has struggled her entire life with her weight, but working behind a desk at jobs she was unhappy at, made her peak to a weight considered to be morbidly obese. At that point, she realized the damage she was causing to her body, so she enlisted the help of a personal trainor. After two years of training three times per week, Amy decided to continue working out on her own. All Together, Amy has lost a total of 85 pounds!
After losing this weight, Amy's entire outlook on life changed and she decided to change her career as well. She received a Certificate in Fitness and Nutrition from Penn Foster online but decided to expand her knowledge and gain more practical experience so she attended the National Personal Training Institute. Amy finished her coursework in August, 2011 and is excited to be able to help people achieve their health and fitness goals.
