Kristi Walsh

Owner/Personal Trainer

I am the owner of Fitness Together Bartlett. I have a Bachelor degree in Sport, Health, Leisure and Physical Studies (an emphasis in Health Promotion) and a minor in Business from the University of Iowa. I am also a certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a certified Health-Fitness Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS). Additionally, I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor through ACE and enjoy teaching a variety of classes (which include, Weight Training/toning, cardio classes, Boot Camp, Yoga and Pilates). My focus is on physical fitness and nutrition. I believe that this combination is key to a healthy lifestyle.

I have many years of personal training experience and have a strong passion for helping others attain their goals. Prior to opening FT I worked as the Assistant Program Director at a corporate Wellness Center where I trained a variety of clients with many different needs. I have successfully completed eleven marathons and am currently signed up to run more this year. I completed the Boston Marathon just 5 months after having a baby! I run many 5/10Ks and half marathons when I am not “in training”. As an athlete of many sports, obviously my passion is running, but I plan to compete in a triathlon in the near future.

I strive to provide individuals with the most current information about health and fitness. I believe that one-on-one personal training is truly rewarding and results are achieved if you work hard and have fun.

Monica Adamczyk

Personal Trainer

I have a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Fitness and Health Promotion with a minor in Business from Aurora University. Being an athlete most of my life I developed a love for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. I played soccer from elementary school all the way through college. Working with trainers when I was younger made me want to become one. I love encouraging people and helping them reach their fitness goals. It is rewarding to see clients doing things they never thought they could do and reach goals they never thought they could achieve.

I spend my free time with my family. My daughter and three dogs always keep me on my toes! When we have the time, my husband and I go four wheeling. It’s always fun to get a little muddy.

Personal Trainer

I graduated from the National Personal Training Institute with certifications in personal training and basic nutrition. I also worked for the International Youth Conditioning Association, training young athletes. Once overweight myself, I have a better understanding of what an individual is going through and would love to be a large part of a healthier future. Nothing is impossible! Trust me, I know! In my free time, I greatly enjoy my family, long workouts, and I’m an avid reader and movie fanatic!

Personal Trainer

I am a graduate of The National Personal Training Institute in Lisle, Illinois.  I have a degree in Personal Training and basic nutrition and also have an Advanced Certification of Personal Training.  I am CPR and AED certified.  I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

I have always been very active in sports throughout my childhood and young adult life.  I played softball, basketball, volleyball, ran track and was a cheerleader as well.  I learned through these activities how important and how much fun exercise can be.

Since college my husband and I have had four children.  As a busy mother of four active children I know how important it is to stay fit and active.  I began to attend group fitness classes five days a week and realized how much fun I was having.  I decided that I would like to go back to school to learn how to help others and become fit and reach their fitness goals.

Personal Trainer

I have been interested in fitness for as long as I can remember and have had some great opportunities to see different areas of the fitness industry. Before joining the FT team I completed a 50 hour practicum in cardiac rehab working with an older, deconditioned population where instilling the importance of fitness became the key to extending their lives. I also completed a 480 hour professional practicum at Velocity Sports Performance in Willowbrook where I worked on ground based mechanics and strength with athletes from seven years old to college/elite.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Illinois State University in August 2008. I am also a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a certified high school coach for basketball and track through the American Sports Education Program (ASEP).
With that in mind, I also have experience in various sports such as volleyball, basketball, and shot and discus. While in high school I was able to set numerous shot/discus records. I still play basketball and volleyball for fun now and do strength training and kickboxing in my spare time in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I feel that promoting fitness and changing people’s lifestyles needs to become a necessity in order to decrease the growing obesity epidemic. It is not only important to maintain a healthy lifestyle when you are older but to instill the importance of diet and exercise in the younger population as to deter them from neglecting their bodies as they get older. My goal is to change people’s fitness habits for life not just for the time being and that takes a dedicated individual, and a good motivator.
