frequently asked questions
Can I come in and workout on my own?
All sessions are by appointment only, one-on-one with your trainer. However, we love when our clients come in on their "off days" to do cardio!
Do I workout with the same trainer everytime?
When you are a client of Fitness Together, you are under the care, motivation, accountability and instruction of the whole "FT" team. Unlike other places, at Fitness Together you get to work with 5 different experts instead of just one. Each trainer will follow your customized program but will provide their own style to keep the workouts fun and interesting. You will get to know and love everyone!
How long do the sessions last?
When you arrive at Fitness Together, you can expect to be here up to an hour and a half. Our clients are encouraged to show up 10-15 minutes before their training session in order to get in a good warm-up. At Fitness Together, we are most concerned about our clients' safety and preventing injury so the warm-up is essential. Our one-on-one training sessions last 45 minutes. What's different about Fitness Together is that there are no distractions, no sharing of equipment, and your trainer is working with you and you alone. In 45 minutes, we can accomplish what may take an hour and a half in a big gym. After the 45 minute training session, most clients stay for additional cardiovascular exercise which is an essential part of every client's program.
How many times per week do I come in?
Well, that depends on your specific goals and what it will take to reach those goals. Most of our clients come in for a one-on-one training session 3 to 5 times per week (we never recommend less than 3). If you want to take an aggressive approach to your health and fitness, do this right the first time and see real results, then take the recommendation of your fitness coach. We will help you decide what is best for you to get you to where you want to be.
How much does Personal Training cost?
The price per personal training session varies based on the package you purchase. Like most things, the more you buy the less you pay per session. Our fitness packages also bundle in other services such as premium customer service, comprehensive fitness assessments, cardiovascular prescription and nutritional counseling.
If budget is a barrier, you might want to ask yourself how much you have invested in things in the past that haven't worked. Look at your current budget for memberships, activities, hobbies and other expenses (like golf, tennis, shopping, dining out, hair and nails, and other luxuries etc.). If you want to look and feel better when you are doing those things, you're going to have to make a commitment to yourself and invest in improving your life.
And don't forget to consider the long term savings of improving your health - you can prevent having to spend thousands of dollars on medications, doctors visits and medical procedures.
Personal training is not only a financial investment but more importantly, it is an investment in your health and quality of life. If cost is your number one concern, Fitness Together may not be the right fit for you. Everything at Fitness Together is customized to the individual, including the package. So to find out if Fitness Together is in your budget, give us a call and let's determine if we have a good fit first.
How will you assess my progress?
You will receive a comprehensive fitness evaluation every 4 to 6 weeks for as long as you are a client. It is important to continue to assess where you're at even when you've reached your goals. This will help motivate you and keep you on track. At each evaluation, we assess body composition (weight, body fat % and measurements) and varioius indicators of physical fitness.
Q: How long are your personal training sessions?
A: Each session is 45 minutes but we encourage our personal training clients to come in a few minutes before their session to warm up on our cardio equipment. After your session we suggest cooling down a minimum of 5 minutes or for maximum fat burning you can add in 15-20 min of cardio after your session. So, plan on spending anywhere 45-80 minutes at each personal training session.

Q: How long until I see results?
A: We assess our clients every 6-8 weeks. This is enough time to show statistically significant results for most people. Our clients who have followed our complete weekly plan and journaled their healthy nutrition plans have consistently seen results, including remarkable improvements in strength and endurance during this period. Like most things in life, the more YOU put into it, the more YOU will get out of it.
Q: How many times a week does the typical client work out?
A: This depends primarily on your fitness goals. Typically our personal training clients prefer to come in 3 days a week for better results. Training less often tends to slow down progress. Of course, clients that wish to achieve rapid results can come in more often to really accelerate their fat loss and/or muscle growth.
