My name is Michael Fennell and I have been certified as a personal trainer since September of 2010 through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). For the past ten years, I have been committed to learning about physical fitness training for athletes and the general population. This process started in junior high school when I began exercising with a personal trainer. The knowledge obtained helped me improve my health and achieve much success in high school athletics as well as obtain an athletic scholarship at Ohio University. Throughout my three years as a student athlete, I was fortunate enough to continue my education under the direction of certified strength and conditioning coaches.
Although I learned much during my athletic career, I had little to no experience as a coach or educator.
Starting January of 2011, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and ideas about fitness in the work setting. As a personal trainer, I assumed the responsibility of creating an individualized, safe exercise program and guiding the client toward achieving their personal goals. Through this experience, I was able to obtain a holistic view of what it takes for both the trainer and the client to be successful; accountability, communication, and understanding to name a few.
I have an Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences and I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Specialized Studies Degree with an area of concentration in Philosophy and Human Dynamics. Its objective is to learn how to efficiently communicate with people while also being understanding of their perspective. In return, it allows the individual with an open mind to develop and use analytical thinking skills to help others find the best practical solution for their unique situation. This translates well when considering the individual needs of a client starting an exercise program: the trainer and client collaborating together with the aim to achieve!

My name is Lawrence Soto and I graduated from Frostburg State University in May of 2011 with a Major in Exercise & Sports Science with a Minor in Coaching.
While at Frostburg State I worked with the local YMCA to help develop and implement two children’s programs; “Fit Kids” & the Home School Physical Education Program that focused on getting kids up and active from Kindergarten-6th grade. My time at Frostburg also allowed me to discover my love for training and helping people reach their fitness and life goals. I was also a trainer for the winning team for our schools “Biggest Loser on Campus” where all team members averaged a loss of 7% body fat in less than two months.
Growing up I played numerous sports from Soccer and Lacrosse to Wrestling in high school as well as running Cross Country/Track & Field in high school & college. Having always been involved with sports and exercise I believe that exercise is the easiest and the most fun way to live an active & healthy life. I hope that I may have the opportunity to work with every person that comes through our doors so that I may help them set and achieve higher fitness & life goals!
